my 93 works build

WEll while digging for yokomo clearance parts. for members. Well while looking for parts so could run the 870c with modern newer rims on yz10 or 93 parts. Stumbled across this chassis, there where 2 of them. i got one. someone else i was helping get parts got the dibs on it. so this is my collection of parts towards a 93 build. will finish the 870 as a true shelfer roller queen to old to nice. So far after 75% im into this build for around 115 so far. just a few more things to get. all new in package parts so far. This isnt counting a few parts for the 870, and afew extra parts for this car. or the th-1 hubs i grabbed.

shocks ( cant decide between stickboy007 big bore set up, or just run re re worlds car v2 threaded shocks, slight price difference)

You can get the belts from toughracing. They ship from South Korea, so it takes a while, but I use them in my runners and they're just fine.

Spur gears are easy. Kimbrough spurs --> http://www.amain.com/Kimbrough-48P-Spur-Gear-81T/p32163

You can go one of two ways with the kingpins. OEM kingpins are good for authenticity, but it's a 3mm thread and the nylon steering knuckles will strip over time. The kingpins then back out and fall off. I think Flustorm originally proposed to a 4mm hex screw in lieu of the kingpins. The wider thread will last longer and is also a perfect fit through the castor block. I tried it and it works great. I use 4x8mm screws in my '93 runner (I originally tried 5/64 screws, but one of them eventually backed out, so I switched to 4mm).

Yeah go tot look at my spurs, i have a ton, and when my buddy gave me all hius stuff from the late 90's racing tool box. tons and tons of spurs. just got to see if i have that size.

The toughracing belts? a specific part number from them. i dont see there belts under yokomo on ebay, i never checked if they have an actual site?

and cool, nothing special, just a straight 4x8mm screw, just button or cap head?

I don't care much for remembering all of the part numbers. I've built/restored enough of them throughout the series to be pretty familiar with what to do for each of them, though.

For the 4x8 screw, you can use whichever type of head you like. I use cap head and it fits fine.

Sweet. Which front, 651 or 652. And the normal 656 for rear. I looked under yokomo not vintage.

Have a motor mount coming, but to get the build started i stole it from the 870c for now.

Found a set of black diff covers. see how they look on build, since i dont have the black motor mount cover.

Did get this far last night and forgot i grabbed the LWP for 93 works. So need to go back to the steering posts and install the LWP parts. Belts and some other parts on there way. Just all these parts sitting. felt it was already time to start putting together, Im an Impatient person. SO for all parts used have been from the clearance bins when i went digging. Turnbuckles, originals are or look to be a pain to find. Was going to use 3 steering kits just for the turnbuckles to use in the camber, BUt there were 3 kits and 2 other people wanted them also so didnt want to be to greedy. I even nabbed a yz10 screw kit (there wasnt any 93 works screw kits), and only needed 1 screw so far. but i have it. SO looks like amain has titanium 42mm turnbuckles decent price for 2. and i grabbed 4 packs of zf-115 rear camber turnbuckles for the YRf2 since they come with 2 white rod ends. I mean 6 bucks for 4 packs, and they still coem with more than just 8 tie rod ends total from 4 packs, little spares.

I have to say it is quite impressive that you are managing to build a '93 Works from NIP parts that were sitting in a bin for 20 years.

So far i think only non stock parts will yup be shocks, belts, and camber turnbuckkes. Ordered thet itanium 42mm yokomo. But still fun having 2 peg hooks full of header cards . So far.

LOl whats wrong with the TCS Dennis?

or do you mean cause the top plate is not there? i do have a white one. But now if a black might be coming will look better. But ball cups and tie rod ends stay white.
