Here's my Cadillac rebuild --
http://www.rc10talk.com/viewtopic.php?f=35&t=34225
Almost done...finally....I have 3 kids and no time. haha I'll post some more current pictures in that thread hopefully soon.
So I'm finally at the point of installing the ESC and receiver (servo is in) and I have a few options I guess. Could you post top down pics of your pan so I can see the different choices you've made for ESC location and wiring routes?
One thing that's binding me up a bit is the BEC wires off the ESC either rub the pan or the battery tray. They might be fine, but it puts a sharp bend in them which I don't really like. The ESC can't be turned 90 degrees from either of those options because there's not enough room between the battery and the pan.
Again, I'll post some pics but I'd prefer to see yours! Thanks.

Gee whiz that's tidy.
I wish I could turn my ESC that direction but it's a rectangle buy a few mm and it won't fit in that orientation.

This one is probably close to how mine will turn out. Any particular reason why you put your ESC on the "other" side?
As I mentioned, I think I have a few more mm of clearance on that side but then the motor wires will have to cross over.
*EDIT -- wait a second, does you BEC wiring go
under your battery or even the chassis??
**EDIT -- upon further thought, I don't think my sensor wire will reach from the "other" side.

I put the ESC on that side to balance out the motor overhang.
Yep, the wires run under the battery.
I ran the sensor wire on mine through the matching holes in the bulkhead and shock tower.
You can see it a lot better in this picture.

I mount mine on the rear shock tower.

other shot was car that hadn't been run, this one was after a race and some practice runs, note the better battery brace situation:

That's a serious battery brace for sure.
When my brother and I ran this car in the 80's we had the battery mounted horizontally and the speed controller was in the rear bulkhead.

I kind of like the idea of connectors between the ESC and motor.....but I'm about to solder mine as soon as I can figure out mounting the motor (see other thread at top for my latest problem and more pictures).
