A couple of DS questions
A couple of DS questions
Ok I can can officially saynive caught the bug. After building a runner out of a free Rc10 (complete rebuild that runs great) , I then started another stock wheeled build from the spares and a blue powder coated chassis. I have been looking at a few DS builds on the board and definitely want to build one. my questions are
#1was there a conversion kit for an rc10?
#2can I use regular short arms?
#3 what's the parts list for the front end to use other wheels
Also if someone can tell me how to search for the listed members on EBay so I can get access to b/s/t it would be greatly appreciated. I've used the advanced search with no luck at all. Thanks

Re: A couple of DS questions
1) yes, it came boxed with suspension, tires and wheels. No body
2) no, they are specific
3) not sure, I'm a purist! There are threads on here with sedan wheel conversions tho

It's time to stand up to the bully. Support the companies that support the industry, not the ones that tear it down. Say no to Traxxas

I can help with the conversion piece if you choose to go non-stock. You will need the front end axle hub assembly that is used on the SC10 4x4

I understand and commend gomachv's purist ways; I myself have a 100% stock built NDS and one that is unbuilt with parts still sealed in a box. I keep them as reference points (the holygrail if you will).
For the rest of them I have no issue replacing parts like rusting hardware or turnbuckles. I prefer stainless steel and titanium. Also I refuse to go backwards by using brushed motors and ESCs. I prefer maintenance free brushless motors.
hope that helps and your build goes well.
Re: A couple of DS questions
I scored some nip rear tires and rims. Just need the fronts now. I suppose I can still do the conversion also. I just did an RC10 runner with a brushed reedy motor and a lipo battery and am super happy with the performance. I had a HPI Firestorm a few years back and it was super fast .It blew a new set of prolines off the rims. I eventually got bored .For me the thrill is bringing something old back to life. I love building and searching for parts. I do it with 70s and 80s bmx bikes also. Also in the process of a more stock RC10 build with spares.
Re: A couple of DS questions
Haha just after I responded to your post I found the front pair of tires on eBay. So I bought them with rims.
