I just tried mounting a TBG early GT body to a tub GT and it seems a tad too long. The only way to get it to fit is by jamming it up against the front bumper.
Is this how it's supposed to be ?

It's hard to see it on the TBG bodies cause they lose a little detail but you need to trim a little bit of the nose. You'll see the cut line if you look closely. I just ordered two and they actually seem very very close to original size if not perfect size.

I still had to bend the front of the body "flat" but it fits better.

Mine mounted just fine. Maybe your body is forward just a hair too much?
Here's a TBG body

I got it to fit pretty good. I mounted my wing a bit different with 3 bolts through the rear lip being it's a repro body. Being a bit ocd I'm a bit bummed I drilled one of the wing holes a little off. I have a second one that I can replace it with if it bugs me too much. Luckily it's on a old racer so nothing is perfect on the truck which bothers me less than if it were perfect.
