Pumpkinfish's ReRe Racer and first race report...
First off, thanks to Joey for all his help in PM's. he really got me sorted out and in the right direction!
After 6 years out of the hobby after having two kids, the ReRe sparked my interest to get back into the hobby. I snagged a kit for retail prices and decided to go racing. Here are a few pics of the build.
The hardest part of the whole build was opening the box, lol!
Next picture is of the eBay parts I snagged.
I snapped a few of the rear section since there was a discussion of how it looked. Mine looked like everyone else's ReRe.
The last two are of the car before electronics.
I did a box art paint job on the stock body and raced that for the day.

Race Day....
I raced my car at Bumps & Jumps in Harrisburg, PA area in their annual Christmas Classic race. Chris puts on a great show!
My setup for the day:
Front, #2 piston, 30 oil, black spring, inside bottom on tower, outside on arm, camber link in the only position it can go, 30 Degree hubs
Rear, #2 piston, 30 oil, green spring, inside on tower, outside on arm, camber link longest setting (hole under wing tube)
Novak Club Sensored Esc
Trinity D3 17.5, half timing
Geared 33/78, Stealth transmission (2.25 internal ratio) with B4 slipper
3800 Shorty pack, full foward against servo.
JConcepts Barcodes Gold (stock inserts) front and rear -Thunder Tiger Phoenix BX II rear 2.2 wheels, Duratrax Evader front 2.2 wheels
Day started off badly when in practice a short course driver smacked me and broke a front arm and bent my right rear cvd. I straightened it by hand best I could for the day. Otherwise car drove better than I thought and was able to keep up with all the newer cars. I qualified C-main with 12 laps while most had 15 laps. I was driving very timid but did have one place on the track that I just could not hook up. The track is a clay dirt oval that does double duty so part of the track utilizes the oval. My car's problem area was coming down the back stretch making a right hand turn off the banking. I was able to go into the turn, but when coming out and applying the throttle at the apex and where the banking transition is, the car would spin. I had to let my car coast through the turn and once it was off the oval, it was fine. Otherwise, the car jumped awesome, went through the washboards very smoothly and turned like nothing I have ever driven before. My last 2wd was an X-Factory X-6, and this was way more fun.
Here is a video of the Stock Buggy A-Main and the problem area I had was the top right hand corner of the video. Any one have any ideas?

Cool photos
Time to upgrade to RPM ?
We need white RPM front and rear arms, rear arm mount, and a one piece front arm mount

that front end took a hella shot!!
Great build and race report, glad I could point you in the right direction
I'm going to tear my stealth down the rebuild it, along with the big bores, get it ready for the '14 season.

Re: Pumpkinfish's ReRe Racer and first race report...
You guys have any suggestions about my issue turning in the one turn? Still bothers me that I was good everywhere but the one turn. My Yokomo 4wd was good everywhere, just a bad driver, lol!

Excellent build and wow, what a nice facility! Looked at their website for the virtual tour and realized I'm about 2 miles from there almost every week. Will have to plan a day to attend a practice session.

I've been to quite a few February Freeze events at Bumps, and even a couple of US OpenWheel events there. Interesting place for sure

Nice place, little about 90 minutes from my house, would have to make it a full day trip.
I miss brushed motors in that hazy, everything seemed better when I was a kid, kind of way.

Bumps is a 90 minute ride for me too. I have been looking for an indoor place closer but all I could find is Mushroom Bowl in Newtown Square which is 60 minutes away. Good thing is Chris puts on such a great show and keeps the facilities top notch it makes it worth while.
What about the warm months? Anything cater to 10th scale near the Philly area? I am 15 minutes from Hobby Hut but that is 1/8 scale track size.
