Hi guys.

I picked up my freshly anodised RC10 classic aluminium parts the other day.

I'm yet to start the build, but the plans are to keep it pretty stock with the exception of some REC bling, being the upcoming orig. style alloy wheels and stealth transmission case. With all the green going on, I dont want to make it too busy aside from some nice alloy bling.

I'm also thinking of a semi-transclucent Masami style paintjob on the classic body, or painting one side opaque and the other side clear.

Thoughts or suggestions?

It needs some Rouge Elements Jelly-Bean wheels, annoe'd to match!!

Lovely shade of green. I'd agree with the alloy jelly bean wheels. But I can also see Tecnacrafts with gold centres looking pretty good too.

The Rogue jellybeans are locked in, and was on the fence about anodising them, but will try as natural alloy first and go from there. Technacrafts certainly would have been a great option also.

I guess in terms of colour combinations, I'm trying to keep it fairly simple...thus the swapping out of gold for green with some polished alloy bling thrown in!

I'm also building a carbon tubbed RC10 with TPS chain drive transmission (amongst some other bits) so potentially I might go a little crazy (yet tastefull) with that one!

Should I paint the body, or leave clear for full effect of the green chassis?

paint the body. Never been a fan of green and gold but in this case of the color shades the tecnacraft gold would really set it off IMHO. Goes for saying though that this car is the color of money

Good catch I didn't even notice that! I have tried doing the outer diff hubs and the finish was never great.

I'm thinking this may match the newest greenish colored chassis screws too?

I am excited to see how the white parts liven up the chassis

Yeah in hindsight the gearbox plate might have been overkill

Paintwise, for some reason a Masami tribute scheme keeps popping into my head, but my painting skills (ie lack of) would make it look laughable...,

Just an update on this one.

I completed approximately 60% of the assembly yesterday, when I was home from work ill. I wanted to take pics of the build however the mrs had the camera and I couldn't be bothered cleaning the work area, preferring to get stuck into building the thing!

Its all looking pretty good so far, however I'm a little dissapointed with the anosiding. I believe the anodisers may not have stripped the gold before anodising green, as there are a couple of areas where gold is showing through. I didn't notice this until yesterday when starting the build, however its not really noticeable in the scheme of things.

So far the only differences to the standard kit are:

- green anodised aluminium parts (although looks almost like a cross between green and titanium... quite cool but not as bright as I was hoping or expecting when shown samples at the anodiser)
- REC 6 gear transmission case
- REC jelly bean alloy wheels
- stainless steel screws used throughout

I'm also thinking of some additional alloy parts, but will wait untilI finish the build first. But I'd like some alloy steering bell cranks, and am also eyeing off the chop spring retainers.

Pics of the completed car will be up in the next 2 or 3 days.

Still a work in progress, I need to add some finishing touches including getting hold of some missing screws from the RC Screwz kit, adding battery cups, painted body etc.

It also needs some additional alloy I think, including steering assembly, shock collars/spring retainers and maybe transmission brace.

Apart from that I really like the balance of green, alloy and orig white parts from the classic kit. Interestingly, the green tinge to the ballcups really works well...quite subtle but something I picked up on.

Any comments/feedback would be much appreciated, as I'm looking at improving this car a bit further.

Looks great!

I would drill the front tower for the proper lower holes, for some reason associated didn't put them on the ReRe but the original kit spec'd using them. It will bring the nose up and make it look more balanced

Thanks for the tip on the front shock tower... I'll certainly carry that out the next time I get an opportunity.
