Vintage looking Nimh packs that fit RC10

Hi guys

Looking for a vintage looking new pack that will fit the RC10 without mods - I tried a few packs at the LHS but they were too big, I am thinking I probably need to find a 1500 MAH pack or something in that vicinity.

Preference for packs that are assembled all side by side (e.g. batteries sides are all touching) not the 3 and 3 tube style.

Thanks in advance!

Nothing out there for the side by side packs. Stick packs work if you remove the end caps. Or mount the battery cup forward with servo tape and use the standard stick pack. Why not assemble your own side by side ?

I haven't personally bought any, but maybe someone else here has?

I noticed recently that HobbyKing now carries a couple of nimh stick packs. See here:

And here:

I have not tried these myself, or looked to closely at the dimensions, but you certainly cannot beat he price.

You could probably get some large yellow shrink wrap and re-wrap those to look vintage if need be. I'm planning to do the same with some saddle packs for my 12's

I have 4 of the hobby king 3000 packs on the way right now, bought them as they should be decent basher packs for 11.20 a piece... then they add a bit of extra advertising /after/ I buy them lol!
...Send the code below to any of your friends, and if they use the code when adding the item to their cart they will pay only $9.68 plus you will get a refund of $1.52!...
$9.68 for a battery pack... that's cheaper then I was able to find for a decent 1/2a nimh pack for this mini slash of the neighbor!

Crazy

I have a Vapextech 5000 Nimh which fits my RC10 with zero mods. No need to cut the battery holders. I removed the sticky product labels easily, so the only graphics left are a red "5000" on a black background. Not stictly vintage looking, but plain and very cool, imo. In fact it is about the only colour on my car.

You know... I think some repro nicad labels would be rather helpful for restorers, relabel a modern battery with an old yellow or red cell label... and not have the vintage run time :)

No USA source. I bought mine in the UK, for the UK. If you get stuck I can help re-ship them to you. But I guess postage would be a killer due to the weight.

Just got my 4 packs in, love the engrish in the warnings.

-Do not disassemale or short circuit battery
-Do not wet and incinerate battery. (Apparently doing one or the other is fine however ;) )
-Do not solder or battery directly Charge battery only with Charger designed for it. (Hmm run-on engrish made up of two or more bullet points squished together... not sure on exact amount!)

Here's the shrink I was talking about, not sure what width we'd need but there's plenty to choose from

I looked into repro labels a while ago.

Most places that can do printed heat shrink labels want minimum order of a billion.
