Early TQ10/RC10 World's Car runner restore

Hey gang! Lots of great info here...thanks for all the knowledge dropped. a couple years back a friend gave me a box of his old rc stuff, and i knew there was some older version of a rc10 in there but didn't have the time to mess with it. Well, now i have the time and resources, and i've been getting this ready to go as my first 2WD buggy. I've had statium trucks as a kid, and currently have been messing around with my rc10t4.1 at my local track for a couple years. figured it's time to start running a buggy and, what better car to hone my skills with.....the RC10!

Here's the car as it was given to me



Lots of corrosion, oxidation, and dirt.
i started by stripping the car down, cleaning all the parts (dyed black), rebuilt the shocks with new seals, etc. the OG owner had put duct tape on the underside of the chassis so it's in surprisingly great shape.



Rebuilt the tranny (has black delrin gears, and bearings) according to this (i have scans of this for the archives section):


I've started amassing parts and i'm getting ready to order some more parts very soon. Here's what i have on the way or on the car:

A&L steering
Long arms, inline axles, front carriers,
jc racing wheels
front block carriers
hinge pins, kingpins
new tires suitable for my track
wide arm front shock tower
turnbuckles
bleeder caps for shocks
screws, etc

Anything else you folks would recommend picking up? Am i missing anything to make this into a good runner?

I'm on the hunt for a RPM "shorty" front bumper and a stealth tranny for this car.

Anyone know, off the top of their heads, what size bearing the jc racing front wheels take? flanged or no?

5/16 x 3/16 flanged. Looks like you already have them in the front rims shown.

Thanks guys! Finished painting the wing as well, and have vintage looking decals on the body. It will have white JCracing 5-spokes. Posted hi-res scans of the Tranny Tips in the scans section. Download it, everyone! Thanks for the bearings sizing, that's what i figured. Was there an online retailer that had these for $1 per bearing?, i seam to remember something like that. Anyone have part numbers from acer? Most of the parts are on the way.

looks great, since it lived this long with a nice undercarriage, please run some chassis protector on it! The TQ IS the chassis, and they get fewer and fewer by the day.

yeah, you need that bumper on there 4 sure. I'd go with RPM or Andy's arms and ditch the stock arms

yeah, you need that bumper on there 4 sure. I'd go with RPM or Andy's arms and ditch the stock arms

It's a shame the original owner of my graphite didn't run a bumper It's not too bad I suppose, but if he just bought a $5-ish part it would've been cherry at this point Oh well.

Yeah, I'm a big Muddy Waters fan so it had to be done haha I while back I went to the R&R hall of fame in Ohio and they had a section for Muddy, it was very cool The signature wall there (everyone who's been inducted into the hall of fame) is a must-see for anyone who's a music fan!

Got the body mounted and wing painted. Trimming a buggy is no joke! Added Houge steering. Wide arms, turnbuckles, JC wheels, tires are on the way.
