Hi, does anyone have any info on these shocks, I bought them a while ago, built them (typical Kyosho high quality shocks IMHO), and am now wondering what they may ave been on. I've been told that they may have been off of one of the Lazer models, am just keen to know which era. Thanks in advance.

I haven't seen those before, I thought Equaliser shocks were the plastic body ones that came on the Optima Mid Custom.

The Lazer ZX and ZX-R came with the gold shocks, the ZX-RR came with upgraded shocks in a browny/grey kinda colour. Maybe yours came on the Lazer Alpha or Sport?

Maybe they were just Option House shocks and didn't came with any model as standard.

Another interesting fact about the design of these is the threaded ride height adjusters are kept in place by having thread/plumbers tape wrapped around the threaded bodies, rather than an o ring like more modern shocks

A very valid, and perhaps likely event

Didn't those debut on the Ultima RB Type R?....and the truck version?

Those were made for the later GP-10 cars. There's a few minor variations in design (all with the same part numbers), and they can also be found with blue bits instead of black.
The Ultima Type-R shocks are the Twincap Pro shocks.

Thanks for posting those pics up, I have the same ones sitting here NIP, along with the short ones as well.
I never knew what they looked like built up.
I have blue caps for them too
I have no plans for them now so its just the excuse to start a new project, what are you planning on putting them on?

I have a Turbo Optima that is awaiting quite a bit of work, currently has some sort of home made front shock tower and what look like black Tamiya shocks on it, so they may find there way onto it, as it also has a belt drive conversion, so instead of being purely original, it will be built a bit more modern maybe, will see what happens when I start the resto, cheers

They came standard on the Pro-x and probably the Pro-xrt but not sure
same as the grey before just threads i have even seen the the ones with out threads have the same number and header.
the rear shocks should have an insert since the rear shockshaft are longer compared to gold due to lazer zx-rr rear suspension mod.
have those too .
if my memory not letting me down jamiebooth should have had those on his triumph in basildon with the purple/pink colors instead of the black.

Are the bodies on these Aluminium? Wondering if I could polishand/or anodise them and put them on my Turbo Optima Mid SE-X. I recall someone saying they found out the hard way that the body of Platinum shocks is not aluminium when they dissolved whilst being chemically cleaned prior to anodising.

They certainly felt aluminium, but that story about the platinum's is scary, maybe they are some other kind of alloy that doesn't like chemicals

Whats the ZX-RR rear suspension mod? I didn't think the ZX-RR had Equalizers? My understanding is it was the fronts which needed the spacers

Dan, check out my ZX-RR pics. I don't know what mods were done on the rear suspension that mvh isobarik mentioned but the shocks are the proper ZX-RR units.
