Show us your race cars
Those of you who race regularly or used to race within the past year or so post info and pics of your cars. What tweaks really put your car in the stratosphere or changed the scene at your local track?

Doesn't have to be vintage, it could be anything.

Re: Show us your race cars
This truck hasn't seen any action in a few years, but I was very successful with it back then. I don't know if it was a game changer, but I was always a contender when I was racing this truck. I was sponsored by Crescenzi Racing, and Dave's parts definitely had a lot to do with it. Most notably, the brake kit, steering kit, and T4 front end. One of the top local drivers drove this truck and said it was the best handling stadium truck he had ever driven. Even after I got a GT2 I still raced this truck most of the time. Unfortunately GT racing completely died out around here.

Geez, Crescenzi is a name that takes me back. We traded website banner links not long after Al Gore invented the internet

Re: Show us your race cars
Website is probably long gone now, it was just a personal Geocities site. How he found me I have no idea.
Although these are older photos here is the FT T4 that I raced up untill about a year ago. I won 3 seasons with this truck, one of which was mixed with 2wd buggies. Same thing here, stadium trucks died off. We went from 2 full heats of trucks to none.
For me the tires were a game changer, they were the tire to run. We also used to run 4.5 - 5.5 systems but with the LRP you couldn't take enough punch out or have enough freedom to do what you wanted. 6.5 - 8.5 Hobbywing on turbo and boost really smoothed things out. Top end of a 3.5 but smoothness of an 8.5.
Edit - I also found a pic of my original B44 that I ran.
Out of all the 4wd's that I've driven I don't think anything was as fast as the Losi XX4 and Kyosho Lazer ZX5.

Re: Show us your race cars
I'm using the SV2 this year in off road. Great buggy, and nothing i've really needed to tweak heavily to get it to perform how i like.

I run a weight just in front of the motor to take the balance a touch more to the rear, apart from that it's stock. I run a Speed Passion GT2.1 speedo with a SP V3 6.5R motor. Yes we have no stock class here, it's full blown mod or nothing. I even run boost on the 6.5
Indoor, during the colder months, i race Schumacher SS GT12. Great little cars, handle well from the box, but mine has been modified quite a bit from standard. Running a Hobbywing 120A Xerun 1s speedo and SP V3MMM 13.5R (13.5 blinky only in this class)

Paul.

Re: Show us your race cars
^^^Pretty much sums up whats most popular in the UK racing scene at the moment^^^
Here's my TeamC TM2... i've only been racing it for the last couple of weeks after retiring my old faithfull Losi XXX CR2, but I managed a 3rd place O/A on Tuesday on Silverstone's indoor astro
Car is running an LRP X20 7.5 with LRP TC Spec Sphere ESC.

Friday night is Touring Car Racing at Kettering, This is my Modeltech sponsored Corally PHi 09' running 13.5 with black diamond ESC set to MAX timing.... in a small hall on Primafelt carpet, its mesmerising!

Team C cars look promising, if I was still racing I wouldn't mind trying their stadium truck.
That Corally looks interesting, it also looks well set up.

Re: Show us your race cars
Is that your paint scheme Reggie? Any similarity is purely coincidental.... my paint scheme has been a gradual development since the late 90s when I did a Schumacher Honda Accord shell that was inspired by David Spashett's cars of the time.... we played with different colours & it became the Modeltech 'team' shell design that myself & my mate ran, the colours have changed again in recent times but I've always had some hint of blue in every one.Charlie don't surf wrote: That paint layout looks kinda familiar!
