Tinking of pulling the trigger on a RC10T4.1

I have recently got back into the RC world, electric this time. I was given an old gold pan RC10 and a ton of parts. I currently am rebuilding the RC10 to display, I love the history of this little car . Now I am thinking I want to run something and I am really leaning toward the T4.1. Anyone have this car? What do you like? What do you dislike? Any thoughts or comments are appreciated. Thanks.

I don't have a T4.1 but my T4 is fantastic! Is there allot of truck racing where you are? I would make my purchase based on what is the most popular form of racing in your area! If you do or don't race, the T4.1 will be sweet! I'm more of a buggy guy, but still love running trucks and SC!

I am not sure what kind of racing is around here now, been away from it for too long. I am thinking that there is a bit of this going on somewhere close, if not i will run at an old BMX track. I use to have all monster trucks and did nothing but bash them. I really don't want to do that anymore, I want to race.
What's up with the ESC setup? Thanks for the input guys.

I just pulled the trigger, it will be here Friday. All I need is a battery and charger. I am new to this any advice on what battery and charger?

If you plan to race, scope out the truck class regulations so you buy accordingly. If you just plan to tool around there's obviously no restrictions and it doesn't really matter. Either way, set a budget and go from there.

It's a fantastic truck, the out of the box set-up is awesome. I've hardly touched my T4.1 in the year I've owned it, still runs up front!

I used to have a T4 Factory Team. Smoothest thing I ever drove.

I think you will be happy with it. Did you buy the RTR? Aren't there 2 RTR versions? Brushed and Brushless?

As far as battery and charger.. it depends what you want.
If you want to go cheap, go for something like the Thunder AC6 from HobbyPartz.com. Its around $40 for a lipo balance charger.. it's not the best, or has a ton of features.. but I've been using mine over a year before I just made a MAJOR upgrade (to Revolectrix PowerLab 6).

Lipos.. you can go with cheap Gens Ace at the same place. Get the 50C 2S versions. They seem to run better than the 40C versions, which I have had several of mine puff on me. Or if you don't mind spending a couple bucks more.. the CRC Speed Sport 40C 5300mah is the best bang for the buck in a race grade lipo. I also like SMC, you can find their packs on their site and they are pretty cheap as well.. Any of them you can get for $60 or less.

Be safe, charge in a lipo bag. $5 at HobbyPartz.

Everything came in, the truck is awesome. I have only played with it for 5 minutes as this is a messed up week. I hope to do a little more this weekend. I will let you know how it goes.

Hey guys, having a little trouble understanding all of the battery stuff. My battery is a Reedy wolfpack 7.4 V 3000 mAh # 730 lipo. I am charging with a reedy 526-S AC/DC 2S-6S Lipo/Life balance charger. What do I put it on? 1A, 2A, 3A, 4A or 5A. Is the a Amps? I am trying to read up on this but looking for some help. Thanks in advance.

I would keep the amps at 3 or less. Less amps will charge slower, but its safer. Also be sure to use a lipo fireproof bag and a temp sensor. Hope this helps.

A good rule of thumb to charging is use the first digit in the MAH rating for the charger amp setting. i.e. 5000mah will be charged at 5 amps, 2000mah will be charged at 2 amps. If you have a 1500 add a decimal 1.5 amps and so on!
