RC10B4/4.2 slipper conversion for the Stealth 2.25 - parts list

*UPDATE*
This is now a detailed parts list.

As far as I understand, the following is needed from the B4:
  • ASC9601 x1 - Top shaft
  • ASC9603 x2 - slipper pad
  • ASC9604 x2 - Slipper hub (one inner, one outer) OR ASC7485 (pair, FT V2, slightly different but compatible)
  • ASC9605 x1 - Slipper spring
  • ASC6629 x1 - Locknut (5-40)
I'll be able to fully verify once I receive the parts. You will need to use B4-style spur gears after the conversion (like the ASC9561, 81T).

Answered my own questions thanks to the B4 exploded diagram:

Looks like ASC9602 (spacer) isn't necessary based on the Stealth's different housing.

Another update: after reviewing the RC10B4.2 instruction manual, it appears as though you could do the B4.2 slipper assembly as well:
  • ASC9601 x1 - Top shaft
  • ASC9603 x1 - Slipper pad
  • ASC9604 x1 - Slipper hub (internal)
  • ASC91176 x1 - VTS slipper housing
  • ASC91177 x2 - VTS slipper pads
  • ASC91178 x1 - VTS slipper plate
  • ASC91179 x1 - VTS slipper hub, outer
  • ASC9739 x1 - Slipper spring
  • ASC7486 x1 - V2 slipper washer
  • ASC6629 x1 - Locknut (5-40)
Now to decide which route to take...

Just for reference on the B4.2 conversion - looks like ASC9739 has been rolled into ASC7486, the latter of which includes both the spring and the washer.

Ballpark estimates based on RCPlanet prices:

$31 for the B4 conversion.
$48 for the B4.2 conversion.

I went the ebay route on my conversion and spent right at $25 for the V2 slipper on my 10t.

Just confused about this list - do you still need the 9603 slipper pad if you are using the 91177 slipper pads?

Yep - in the VTS slipper assembly, the inner configuration (from the spur gear inward) is the same as the B4 slipper assembly (just the inside half). The VTS assembly replaces the outer components.

I'll update the posts above with diagrams taken from the manuals.

Just an update: the B4 conversion list is confirmed. Just ordered the B44 VTS stuff (outer components) on an unrelated parts order and will update once done/confirmed.

Can do. I'll get some pics of the V2 slipper tonight, but the VTS parts won't arrive til later in the week.

Are there any clearance issues with the vts slipper and the gear cover?

It's been January since an update with pictures was requested and promised, but I'm not seeing it . I am hoping that my assumption that this post was looked at this year, that all the numbers work.

I also assume that the B4 style spur is needed as well for compatibility with the listed parts?

Thanks for all the research!!

I did the B4.2 slipper. My son has a RC10B4.2, so I just ordered all the parts from his manual. With the B4 top shaft everything works perfect. The shaft does stick out too far for the original cover, but I've found that the B4.2 cover (ASC7461) works great for me. Without mod you can only use the top screw, but they are stiff plastic, and so far that has not been an issue. Besides the one screw thing, it's just a much nicer cover.

I don't have any pictures uploaded at the moment, or I'd post. I'd promise to post pic, but we see how that works out sometimes. :D
