Updated shock options?

Post by RC104ever »

Hey everyone, just wondering - what can you use on the front of the RC10 with the stock nose plate and either a CE or Worlds shock tower?

I have a set of .89 threaded shocks with AE front buggy springs but the springs seem too short.

I was thinking of swapping the .56 shock shafts to make it work but wanted to see what you are using

Keep the .89 shock shaft for those towers . All the front buggy springs are 1.3" just have to adjust with the collar.

you can also use an offset spring cup to raise the spring higher up the body. like an rpm cup. you should use a taller front tower though.

Thanks guys. I noticed that even if I move the collar down, it still seems like the spring is too short. I'm wondering if I maybe bought the 1.02 front shocks? I'll have to measure them to check.

I did some searching and noticed someone said they used Losi 22 shocks and they seemed to work well.

Anyone know where to get the spring cup that scr8p mentioned?

Also, was just looking at RPM's website and noticed they have a two stage piston setup - anyone tried this?

I'm really close (I think) to having my car ready to go out and race for the first time - obviously outdoor time is running out but I will have time to try it indoors soon. I think I've got power, tires and rear suspension mostly sorted. I've got an Integy setup station so I will be working on the suspension angles etc soon but I've got to get the front end figured out.

I DO have the 10T front end etc that I could swap on, but then I would lose the aluminum shock tower that I like because it will never break.

I think Losi 22 shocks need the taller front tower for .89" shocks...in which case you might as well go for the new Associated big bores.

If you want a standard bore shock, and don't mind putting Losi parts on an AE car, then you can still get the Losi .6 and 1.2 threaded shocks new, which I believe fit on the stock CE/Worlds towers.

I was looking at RC carbon works and noticed they have a worlds style front tower for .89 shocks. I knew they had the rear tower for the new wing mounts so now I will have to buy a bunch more stuff.

Sigh...will it ever end? I can't seem to stop buyin stuff for this car
