64 pitch gearbox Yokomo YZ834B RPS SE!!!!!!!!!!!

Post by Dr. Robotnik »

Yes you heard right it finally arrived today

Image

See this thread for the scam that almost happened http://www.rc10talk.com/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=2573

I am super happy as all my other stuff is in storage while I move house so it's nice to get a bit of real RC action!

It came with some extra bits and bobs, two shells,

Image

some alloy wheels,

Image

loads of vintage stickers

Image

and the star part of the lot was the 64 pitch tranny

Image

As soon as I get a decent chassis (Mrlexan I'm looking at you here  ) then I can build the worlds most hopped up Yokomo YZ834B RPS SE!

P.S. Sorry the pics are a bit crappy but my camera battery was malfunctioning

P.P.S. Dunno why the pics are so big photo bucket says they are smaller???

Never knew there were 64p gears for that gearbox. I don't recall anyone ever running 64p stuff back then in anything but 1/12th scale. That's super cool.

Now I want to see the inside of that gearbox... :D

Thanks for the comment Eau Rouge 8)

I am pretty sure this wasn't an off the shelf kit but a full custom setup made by one of the Yokomo factory racers...

Can't wait to get inside it, I'll get proper pics and open it up asap :D

Anyway, I'm off to bed now....Good night all!

This what you are looking for?

It is different from mine (I posted a pic of mine somewhere here and I couldn't find it).... It looks like this one does not have the wholes for the Delta Dog Suspension holes, but more a direct replacement for the Yokie Suspension. What I can't figure out is, what are the holes in the back of the chassis. A laid it up against a RPS chassis and on the RPS they are not there.................... Do you have the thin hoop (as pictured), if you do, let me know.

Oh and yes, I took it out of the bag to make a template for future reference.

PM me when you get a chance.

Oh, one more thing..... Sounds like a competition, World's most hopped up Yokie. I will give you a run for your money. Look out for Woobie too, he has the full HT 834. And finally, if Tak ever shows up here he'll put us all to shame.

Yeah, you said it Lexan.......Ole Tak has a Dogfighter made of aluminum RC helicopter parts, and is belt driven!!!! I dont think he has alot of his stuff pictured anywhere on the web, unfortunately.

Ed, I know what you are working with, and you for sure has some aweosome parts, especially those aluminum arms! Cant wait to see what you come up with.

Hehehe, sorry, no I did not mean it as a competition at all, I probably phrased it wrong as I was so happy it had finally arrived after all the scams, postal strikes and customs mix-ups...

I know there are many people out there with better cars and parts than me. 8)

Perhaps I should have said worlds most home made Dog Fighter as the majority of the parts I have seem to be one offs...once again no competition, unless it'll spur you guys into posting pictures of your amazing collections, in which case, I am the best, you'll never beat me, hahahaha

Oh btw about the Hot Trick car, I have all the parts except the chassis so if anyone finds one lying about I'd love to buy it. Unfortunately I seem to be very unlucky with them, and have missed out on them a few times now. Asashaw from this very board listed a NIB one on ebay without knowing what it was, I was gutted when I found that out

Who is Ole Tak? I hear his name bandied about but I don't know anything other than he has an amazing collection. Is he the guy on time tunnel who runs the rareist of exotic RC cars? I'd love to see this Dog with alloy heli parts...

Lastly, I am just about to pm you Mrlexan but I don't have any idea what the extra rear holes on the chassis are for I am afraid and I don't have one of those thin roll hoops either, pm coming shortly.

Once again thanks a lot for your great comments Scott and Jay :D :D :D

Japanese says they belong to a guy called Aku, is it still the same guy, or have I mis-read (my Japanese is a little rusty)?

Is this the Dog Fighter made with heli parts that was mentioned?

BTW, yes I am a fan of his cars, especially because he runs them, I am a fan of many peoples cars, yours included 8)

I would be interested to see what that spur gear looks like. My thought is that it's a gear with witht he option to change out the spurs.

That's what I was thinking, too. It's gotta be just a standard Losi 64p spur on a hub adapter.
