1 T0 1 2000 CAMARO REAREND BEARING PROBLEM HELP !!!!
I tore it down put the recomended offset bearings in it with double seals. They said those models bad for bearings and axle wear so to put the newer bearings in it so i did and they only lasted from my home in Henderson,NC to 30 miles south of miami and then back to south carolina then started poping on driverside. Both are letting gearoil leak out the axle tubes and one side you can wiggle the axle around.Their under warranty but what the HELL MAN.$35.95 EACH SHould last more than 2000 miles dang!!!! Camaro is sitn on jack stands as i type. What do i do next to figure it all out.
Dang trip about broke me.But i got her bf straightened out the old fashion way lmao.DON

that sucks Don, never seen a problem with axle saver bearings that i know of. Stupid GM design using the axle as the inner race, HATE it. But not sure what to tell you except take 'em back to the shop you got 'em from and say WTF? Did they fall in on the install or did you have to tap 'em in good and snug? If they just fell in place without much work, maybe they were the wrong bearing?

Snugg fit but inner part has model plastic in it to hold the seals outward.I have a nice groove cut into my driverside axle now. That bearings come all apart tryn to get it out.The passenger side has roared since putting that one in.They have seals on both sides the bearing hows the gear oil suppose to lubricate them that way.Looks like would have only an outter seal.I got new rotors and brake pads too.So im broke now and probably haft to sell my rc cars.Don
ps:bearings are warranted but do i really want to put that same crap back in it.Probably haft to put stock bearings back in it with seals since it has worn the groove into the axle. They ought to last way more than 2000 miles at 75 to85 mph shouldnt they lol

My dad just took his 2000 Camaro to the shop for this same problem. He doesn't work on cars so he is having it done, he also needed an axle shaft on the right side which was a 241.99 part alone! Good luck!

So far with the stock bearings its doing fine. But everyone here says go with the older disc brake rearend with the double raced bearings.I left the same axle in it since worn down a sixteenth where aftermarket bearing went.Original bearing areas were fine.Don
