Craigslist find! First post
Hello everyone,
I've been collecting for about a year now and have been reading (ok trolling lol) for about the same time. Figured it was time to create an account as I have begun to be serious about collecting. I currently have 4 gold pans, an RC12l, and 2 10T. Also, some random Tamiya stuff and my very first RC (which I found minty with box!!) A Sears super lobo II. Anywho, today I picked up this gem. Spotted it in the background of one of those notorious Craigslist photos. On the phone guy said he didn't have the box... good thing I spotted it in the garage! Couple questions. Looks to be complete other than the rear camber links. Modern rear tires. Is that the original steering set up? Rear bulkhead looks different. Brand? Are the "wide track" front arms the same as the worlds? I have some black NIP wides and would like to replace if possible as the ones on the car are discolored. Thanks!

do you think its a bad twilight zone episode for team associated to be re producing a buggy from yesteryear that is capable of beating their latest and greatest production buggy?

Excellent find and welcome to the board. The worlds cars are awesome, add a sensored 17.5 and run that thing!

looks stock besides the rpm rear bulkhead
It's time to stand up to the bully. Support the companies that support the industry, not the ones that tear it down. Say no to Traxxas

Very nice car, hope you got it for a steal! As said the rear bulkhead is RPM and it has a FT blue screw kit on it, these are not oem! I think the rear tires (Proline Bowties) were around during the Worlds Car. However, I would restore that thing and shelve it. It's just too nice to run IMO! Thanks for sharing pics! All the parts you need to put it back to oem are not hard to find and should not cost more than $30-$50 total!

Re: Craigslist find! First post
looks horrid...send it to me, I will dispose of it properly for you
the worlds car had a different "compound" plastic for the front arms, but they are identical in appearance to the standard wide track arms. the discoloration you mention may be due to the difference in material.

My plan is to return it to OEM and shelf it. I have other less beautiful cars I can make into runners. What is the name / part # for the original rear tires? Is there a person or service on the site that will fill scratches and reanodize chassis?

Run it...it can always be sanded and re-anno'd later. When I get my hands on a World's chassis...it will be run, just like my current Goldie.socal jared wrote:Ask JK what he thinks
It really looks super nice, while I dont like shelfers, it would make a really nice example.
When you get tired of it, I will flog it around the track to make it feel loved again

Re: Craigslist find! First post
I understand why you guys say to run it, but there are far too few Worlds cars in good condition. You can find a cheap one that is poor and make that a great runner!
