frustrated on trying to find info
I know the Kyosho Tracker is one of the variants of the Ultima platform but it seems like it has been erased from kyosho history. Search as I may I can't find the one thing I want to know. When did the Tracker first hit the stores. I know it was never a race model but it was a part of Kyosho history. I tried wiki google and even on here and zilch. Its almost like Kyosho is ashamed of it. So does anyone know? I know it was available in 95 because that's when I bought my first one.

Re: frustrated on trying to find info
I don't know for sure, but I stopped getting Tower Hobbies catalogs around 1990, and I'm pretty sure it was in there by then. If memory serves, they did a Hi-Rider Vette II on the same platform around the same time.
Kyosho released a zillion models over the years, and they don't seem to share the same sense of their own history that, say, Tamiya does. I doubt it's that they're ashamed of the Tracker, more like they've forgotten it.

Re: frustrated on trying to find info
I had forgotten about the Hi-rider vette. There was one sitting on the shelf right next to my first tracker when I basically did a coin flip. I actually had a toy grade smaller knock off of the vette a few years before that. It was one of those go forward and turn in reverse toys. Looked just like the box art car

Re: frustrated on trying to find info
The Kyosho Tracker appears in the '94 Tower catalog but not the '93. So my guess is that it was available starting somewhere in 1993.

I wouldn't say Kyosho was ashamed of it at all as they went so far as to come out with the Tracker 2 and Nitro Tracker afterwards.

Didn't the tracker come out the same time as the outrage and the outrage ST? I thought the only difference was the size of the tire they used on the Tracker...more blackfoot like.

Re: frustrated on trying to find info
Didn't want to start a new thread so ill ask in here.
Can anyone confirm that the Kyosho Tracker shares the same body shell as the Kyosho USA-1?
The body on the one I bought is really warped on the bottom but a reference picture of the Tracker

Re: frustrated on trying to find info
the USA1 had a unique part number and had a cutout or indent for the blower assembly. DA-34 is the part number

Here's the reason I ask.
Saw this.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/BS-82-Body-Kyosho-USA-1-USA1-Tracker-/400508494757?pt=US_Radio_Control_Control_Line&hash=item5d402aa3a5
Planned on getting this instead of a ludicrous $90 body

This usa-1 doesn't have a cut out in the hood

Re: frustrated on trying to find info
Thats a nitro crusher- the intake was bolted to the body instead of the electric style where it comes thru the body. The nitro crusher body is a BS-82

Re: frustrated on trying to find info
From what I understand. The only difference between the usa-1 body and the tracker is the hood. Other than that it is completely interchangeable
