AE 10L question.

I am getting a 10L from a member on here and I was wondering if there are different rear hubs that I can put on it to use modern wheels.
Could anyone shed some light on this? I'd appreciate it!

What "modern wheels" do you mean? 1/10th scale pan car rims have not changed in a long time. Do you mean GT wheel adaptors to put touring car rims on? or some other kind of rubber tire? Its a difficult question to answer without knowing exactly what kind of wheels you plan on fitting.

The 4 hole pan car wheels. Like the CRC track magnets.
I know some of them were 2 hole, and 3 hole. I get the track magnets local, because CRC is 2 miles from me.

If the car has the original hubs fitted to it then any modern 1/10th pan car rims will fit, including the current CRC range.

Same goes with most 4-hole or 2-hole aftermarket hubs.

Put simply its very unlikely you'll have any problems unless your car has some freaky weird hubs.

I hope this helps.

I think those are the hubs on my car. I getting it from njdriver04 on here. I saw some rc12's on ebay that the rear tires looked like they were secured with a nut. I was a little "gun-shy" about them.

Hows the parts availability for these cars? Can they still be competitive with today's 12 scale cars?

A quick way to distinguish between 10th scale and 12th scale rear wheels is that the majority of the 10th scale wheels have a four hole mounting pattern were the 12th scale cars have a three hole mounting pattern. However, some of the 10th scale wheel do have two hole mounting pattern, but those are usually custom alloy wheels.

Thanks for the info. I'm just getting into carpet racing. I'm just trying to get some info so I can get some spare parts and try to modernize it a little.

You'll need 3-hole hubs to mount modern wheels on a 12L.

Good source for hubs is CRC, and Irrgang, they should still have a complete setup, that will allow you to run 3 bolt wheels. Also check here and the bay, a complete RC12L3 axle with hubs pops up every now and then.
