RC500 - Help with part dimensions

Post by limestang »

Hello, hoping to find someone willing to email close up photo's and dimensions of the following RC500 4wd parts:

Engine Pod #5520
Bulkhead Brace #5532
Alum Blocks for inner drive shafts #5542
Inner Wheel Hub #5537
Solid Axle #5560

I have been looking unsuccessfull on and off for over a year, but no luck. I am short some other parts (858, 2532, 2533, 5539, 6227), but the ones listed above appear to be something I could fabricate. I am by no means a master machinist, but I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express once (couldn't resist), and have a lathe and Mill that I've used to make some steam engines. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks, Limestang

Why do you want the #5560 solid rear axle? I know it's listed in the parts manual but I've never seen it used in an actual build and don't think there is a reference to it in the build manual.

I wasn't sure on the solid axle - That's great news if not needed.

Well yah but now you need the diff and the rear dogbones and assorted other parts to complete the rear end drive.

I have a complete RC500 2WD, and have been collecting the 4WD conversion parts. I have been using the following as a guide, but I'm not sure it is complete.

http://www.teamassociated.com/pdf/discontinued_items/cat_rc500.pdf

Pages 4 and 5 cover the 4wd parts.

Can anyone confirm whether or not this is complete?

Thanks Limestang

Well that's pretty much it but you might try reading the 4wd instruction manual and view the pictures to kind of become famiiar with what parts go where.

Thanks a bunch, last time I was at Associated's site all the discontinued links were not working, I assumed they had deleted them from the site.
Thanks again!

Part #2533 is the tie rod steel ball joint and it is the same as the RC10 shock rod end steel ball joint.

I am trying to figure out the manufacturer of the tie rod plastic ends #2532 but haven't had any luck so far, I am sure it was from an outside source as the same part was used on Delta 1/8 cars.
