Looking for cohesive lists of 10 items to do with Ontario
Ok, my family fosters pet rats. The group we work with rescued about 100 rats from 2 situations in Canada (hoarding & feeders), and the mommas were all given province names to honor their Canadian lineage.
The mother of our foster clan is Ontario (we've chosen Tari for short), and we have 10 babies (3 boys and 7 girls). We try to come up with names that are associated on some level for each litter we foster. The last one was spices (Poppy, Lavender, Ginger, Hazel, etc) and we find ourselves trying to stay loyal to our system. For example, Quebec is using river names for theirs.
I was hoping to come up with something that had a little more pizzazz.
Any ideas? I know there are quite a few Canadians on the forum, so I figured I would ask.
BTW I tried coming up with characters from Strange Brew but there weren't enough female roles to name our seven girls.

FYI there are plenty of rats in NYC. No need to import Canadian rats. Damn, nothing is made in the USA anymore.

Well, you could name them after the crappy bottom feeder sports teams: Leafs, Jays, Raptors and FC
Ok, the Jays may not suck this year and the FC made the playoffs. Oh, I forgot the Argos

How about Lord of the Rings characters? Frodo, Bilbo, Gimli, Samwise, Arwen, Eowyn, Galadriel, Merry, Pippin, etc...I think most of those names wouldn't have to be gender-specific.

I guess you don't want to know that I get paid to kill rats I've been in pest/rodent control for over 12 years

Re: Looking for cohesive lists of 10 items to do with Ontari
That's a good one for a future litter! My son wants to do a Star Wars one at some point too. This is our second foster group... I am sure there will be many more.Coelacanth wrote:How about Lord of the Rings characters? I think we're going with team names (pro, college, etc) from Toronto. A lot of the other litters are already towns, or rivers, or lakes, so we wanted to be different. Argo, Maple, Marlie, Jay, Rock, Colt, Lynx, Hawk... I just want to make sure we get a Triumph in honor of the Lingerie Football League.
@Goatless- you get paid to kill pests... these are pets. Everyone has to make a living.

Yes, very rare for me to run across albino's. Usually Roof or Norway's. Yours look ALOT more friendly than the ones I deal with.

Actually, my corn snake eats rat fuzzies...no need to name them, just freeze 'em and ship 'em over here.

That snake would make some pretty boots.
Unfortunately, that's why I initially didn't post up about this as I figured the discussion would get to the 'vermin' or snake food level. To each his own.
Thanks for the suggestions.
