Nose heavy?

Hey all...

I've got a resurrected RC10T2 that I've been slowly rebuilding to compete with some of the newer kids at our local indoor track.

The track is very hard pack clay...almost concrete like...

I'm running bar codes on all 4 corners and finally got the thing to track well.

But over the jumps? even with a judicious throttle stab at the lip of the jump...she just likes to nose in to the ground...often digging the RPM extended bumper right in...and then flipping over. I've slid the battery back...with no foams to try and move some weight to the back...But then she lifts her front end with throttle...

She's runnin a 4000mah stick type lipo...35wt oil in the front shocks...30wt rear...green springs...this setup soaks up the bumps quite nicely.

On the straights, she's giving the Losi 22T and RC10T4 guys fits...hee hee hee....

Any ideas gals/guys?

BTW...this was a TOTAL ebay build....Total build cost (including replacement RPM parts...gears..electronics...etc): less than the cost of a T4 team kit...woohoo...

I know it's not the same but my rc10 dies the same. I can't figure it out

Try a bigger spoiler. I changed the wing angle on my buggy and noticed a huge improvement in how it flew. A bigger spoiler should have a similar effect.

You have a lot that could be going on. What is your setup and ride heights?

Front:

30 wt shock oil
#2 pistons
stock 30 caster block
2 degrees camber
2 degrees toe out
Green springs

Rear
35 wt shock oil
#2 pistons
3 degree toe IN blocks
2 degrees camber
standard wheelbase

Both front and rear arms are RPM. Ride height set so arms are parallel to ground...just about 200mm or so...Measurements taken with a 2s 4000mah lipo battery...running a 6 cell 5000mah NiMh the rears are just about 2 degrees or less from horizontal.

Track surface is indoor hard packed clay...some glazing...the proverbial blue groove track....tight course however with an uphill double that terminates into an off camber right hand hairpin heading downhill....crazy.

But the big triple...I hit the first one...and even with a perfectly timed throttle pull (rare) the thing nosedives into the last one...frustrating.

Does it nosedive with the NiMh pack? If not, I'd say add some weight behind the LiPo by stacking some lead squares (4 would probably be a good start) behind the battery. You'll have to adjust your ride height but this should help I would think.

limiters added....as for rear ride height...lower? or higher?

I thought the optimum was to get the arms/cvds level?

Rear cvd bones level yes, but- if you are sprung too softly or have too light oil the rear chassis will slap on the jump face propelling the rear end forward in a nose down way. Or if your sprung too heavy the same effect can occur.
