I recently got back into the hobby and I always wanted an RC10 since I was 12. Well now I have one and it needs to beat the new skool cars.
Here is what I have:
Klein arms front and rear
RC10t rear hub carriers
Extended spindle shaft (front)
B4 CVA's
RC10T rear shock tower
12mm hex deep dish wheels brought equal track width with the front
Front end:
I used the stock RC10 front arm mounts and I had to use spacers due to the wider arm width.
I went with an extra long shock for the mono setup. I fabbed the arm mounts out of carbon fiber. I went with the long shock to ensure that I always had shock tension on the arm at all times in order to avoid teeter tottering effect leading to body roll. I will try this at the track as is. Do you guys think I will need to add a sway bar?
Steering:
I went with the TLR Losi 22 steering rack (Nice rack; I like it!)
This allowed me to cram more hardware forward to help out the light front end.
Also added titanium struts and a B4 wing mount.
Castle 4 pole 4600kv
LIPO 2s
Hobbywing programmable ESC (i really like it especially for the price!)

I know this doesn't qualify as vintage, but I wanted to do a build thread on the 22-4 because of how similar it is to the XX4. It's essentially just a modernized version, and the last of the unique 3 belt 4WD buggies. Today all of the 4WD 1/10...

^ - Thanks so much romulus22. I really appreciate that and I'm glad you like the pictures.
^ - coxbros1 - Yes. I've had her for 25 years. She is a member of the family. She even went to college with me. She is curled up next to me as I type this.
No, I am not a NIP/Shelfer/seal not broken kind of guy, so I tear into it...I didnt take pictures on each step, I was just happy to be building a new car.

Very very nice. I am glad to see that it seems to be driving like Losi said it would. Looks like Losi is back on the ball with this one. I just wish there was more racing, or even a track in my area. Eh, I think I might get one any way, always loved...
I have a thread here on an R&D project we are doing, destined for this forum:
Part of it is to build out a TLR 22SCT, so I am asking for your help in reviewing my choices of electronics. This is not for racing, the goal would be a...
Well I had a chassis in great shape and lots of pieces so I threw this together. Luckily I had a jammin rear tower cause the stock one causes the shocks to rub the stock rims. Even with the shocks leaned in its still very very close. I am using the...

Not sure how practical that is, but it sure opens up the body choices. Reminded me of this thread until I looked at this thread... then I thought Why did that remind me of this thread?? :?
New and readily available option. Slip right on. By eye it adds a mm or 2 to rear but actually gives a bit of needed clearance on 5 link cars, also shown on car with RPM arms and hubs. Front appears about identical. I let someone who buys with a...

Oh, awesome! Thanks for the info.! And it is the best car of the era :!:
So I started a while ago on this car and never finished it.
The chassis doesn't line up well with most bodies and it got sidelined for a while.
Anyways...
The chassis had been cut/carved where the front arms were touching the chassis on full...

I watch Andy's eBay listings but only see the painted bodies getting listed. I wasn't sure if there was a different retail source with a set price. Wishful thinking.
He had some clear Pro Arrow and Renegade bodies listed a while back.
My usual pusher, oh oops I mean friend who frequents the local flea markets and craigslist ads brought a nice haul to work the other day.
He is not an RC guy, so I offered as usual to clean up / rebuild (and thoroughly inspect of course) the...
