Intro and question about B2 wheels

Hey all, I have my B2 I built in 98, and I have only managed to break two parts in 13 years, so my car is pretty original. I did recently put in a brushless motor/esc to make it friendlier to use. I am a basher only. This is due to the fact that I live in a black hole of tracks. There is one indoor track about 30 minutes away, but it is small (5 turns) and they want $20 to race ($10 to practice, but it is packed). So my questions will be related to making my car look better and be able to use some newer equipment, which leads me into my question.

I really want to put these wheels on my b2. I think they look pretty cool, and they can handle asphalt (half my time is spent in the parking lot at work).

The cars hubs, axles, etc. are all original, so are there any 2.2" wheels that will just fit? or do i need to change out the hubs, so i can use any modern wheel? If so what parts will be needed? Has anyone done this and can give me first person advice?

And, I do realize i will need to lower the gearing since the wheels are bigger so i dont run hot.

thanks, and I hope to learn enough from tinkering, that I can someday contribute something to this board.

yep, those wheels scr8p mentioned and your tires you mentioned and they will slap right on. You'll be good to go.

The exception is if it's a B2 Sport which came with the old 1/4" dogbone axles, and bushes, yuck.

If you have the sport and want to change to 3/16 axles . Thunder tiger cvds Part# PD9000 are your best bet for a change over.

Or if you want to spend more, the MIP shiny CVD's for the B3 which are still around if you look for them.

i think those thunder tiger ones will fit. the mip kit is for 1/4" axles which is what you alreasdy have.

99.9% sure these will work too.

I'll add the .1% for you scr8p, they work.

dont forget bearings with 3/16" I.D.

They are also a little longer than the MIP cvd and fit into the outdrives better.

Ok, Thank you one and all for your help...

to review... I will need the custom works CVD kit, bearings that have an O.D. of 3/8" (measured them just now) and an I.D. of 3/16".

So, will almost any 1/10 buggy wheel work or is there still more to it?

these are what i have modified to fit on there now, but I would like to do it right this time.

thank you.

B3 wheels, Thunder Tiger Phoenix & the JC Racing B3's, there might be some others like Losi not sure which though. B4's don't really work, the offset makes it too narrow. On those front DH3 tires, they'll work better with the wide front wheels as opposed to the normal fronts.
