I have a bunch of parma fascolour paints, for the airbrush. What is the best thing to use to reduce for spraying?? laqur thinnner, paint thinner? I dont have access to the parma reducer (cant ship across the border anymore) It is water based but I was told that isnt the best to use.

Also what is a good practice for edging stripes with a thinner line.
I have masked this a few times and there as always a spot which is slightly "out" or get some creep under tape.
Is it just practice or is there another way of doing it?

don't use lacquer thinner, it's waterbased.

i haven't used faskolor yet, but i remember doug posting something about reducing with clear window cleaner. someone else can chime in on that.

I've read that using regular Windex is fine, and to thin the Faskolor to the consistency of milk...

The problem with that site is finding those 3 useful posts in a topic having 400 pages.

faskolor usually needs no thinning and is ready to use. I use Fasmask for masking, be sure to apply some coats though to prevent it being to thin in the end and a pain to peel it off.

I tried Faskolor and I thinned it my usual way 1/2 and 1/2. It was waaaaaay to thin. It just ran off and pooled in the corners. If I were to do it again I would shoot it straight from the bottle. If it is too thick add 1/10 water/windex/whatever and try again. Repeat until you get the desired consistency.

And TEST, TEST, TEST before shooting your body.

Yes, it's a good idea to test on some cut-up sections of plastic 2L soda bottles. I also don't think FasKolor should be thinned; it's not like Pactra, it's made to spray on as-is.

It's not necessary to thin the paint...in fact, you're supposed to be able to attach many airbrushes directly to the FasKolor bottles.

until I got a good airbrush with multiple spray tips there were a few colors that had to be thinned. Colors escape me now but I know there were 2 for sure I had to thin but since I got the new brush I have not had to thin this paint. Switched out to a heavier tip and walla...no thinning. You shouldn't have to thin this paint but I have tried the window cleaner with no problems. I don't know what it did to the strength or etching ability of the paint but I only added enuf to get it to spray so it shouldn't have lessened its integrity by much...if any.

It does say spray from bottle but it never sprays right for me I tried different tips and pressure and although it will work for large areas, but for smaller stuff it wont. I will have to try I guess.
