Started the cleaning process, the most stubborn dirt and grime I have ever dealt with. Still have to take apart the front end...Will probably try the peroxide whitening treatment for the first time since these parts are yellow.

It possibly could have. The guy I bought it from was in southern california. I asked if he was the original owner but he said he wasn't and he knew nothing about r/c or where this particular car came from. He probably got it from a garage/estate sale because he sells alot of misc stuff.

It's mostly assembled now, just have to clean the shocks. Any good methods on taking apart the shocks? The solid spring retainers make this an uneasy task. Only thing I can think of is to use vise grips with a towel and clamp down on the shock shaft to unscrew the lower shock mount. Im just afraid about gouging/scratching the shaft.

Decided I kind of liked the yellowyness so I left it alone. Adds to the vintage and old school character. The lighting sucks I know.

Last time I saw that buggy it had "You didn't win this auction." all over it.

Nice pickup :)

actually I think the lighting was great. Showed the actual color instead of the sunshine drowning out the correct color in the completed pix. Either way a nice job.
