looking for informations on Revtech motors

Post by V12 »

Unpacking one of the old pancars what will need a full resto I found this Revtech motor again.
Will have to remove the motor for full sight but from this picture you also can see it´s based on an old Kyosho aluminium can as some of the early Trinity motors.

I think Neil McCurdy was the founder of Revtech but that´s all I know about them. Are there any informations available on history of Revtech and their motors?

Neal was a slot car racer before RC. A lot of the motor guys came in from slots... Ernie, Reedy, Big Jim, Neal.

Neal was a regular on the SoCal RC tracks with his Revtech motors. His motors always made pretty good power and he was there at the track to help guys running Revtech.

At some point in the early 90's (?) Trinity hired him to do their motors.

So, while I was away from RC, Trinity seems to not be as big as they use to be in the RC world. Not a single ad in the Jan. issue RCCA. So I looked at there website and found this http://www.trinityrc.net/shop/index.php?route=product/category&path=72_80. So is he still working there or do they just own the name now?

This is the Revtech motor as removed from the Villain car. Case of a Kyosho Le Mans 480T as I thought.
The winding is a 14T as could be seen at the endbell.
Someone knows this motor?

I just read on a Blog that Neil "Revtech" McCurdy passed away on September 12, 2020.
