I'm hoping someone has an idea on this one. I have a XX and had a JRX2 do the same thing. The gear box clicks. I've pulled it apart and can't find a single flaw in it. The teeth are perfect, the ball diff is very smooth. The case is perfect.
Anyone know what causes this?

Just looking for more info, is this installed in the car ready to run, or on the bench and you feel clicking when turning over by hand??

is it the trans..... all by itself that's clicking? are you spinning the entire rear drivetrain without the motor and hearing the clicking?

Most the time its the wheel axle pin poping or clicking in the back of the wheel.DON

Thanks for the clarification.
This doesnt happen under free spin (no motor) or if you apply power with the vehicle off the ground, it only happens when I apply throttle and the vehicle is on the ground. It seems to drive just fine with the clicking, it's just one of "those things" I hate to hear. LOL

I am going to guess your driveshafts are hitting the arms in some way maybe. At least something with the driveshafts or axles. That would explain only when on the ground and you have a load on the shocks making the arms and driveshafts change angles. Maybe one of those pins in the axle joints?

Good call. Makes sense. I'll look at that tonight. I keep going at the gear box looking for solutions.
PS THANK YOU FOR CHANGING YOUR AVATAR.
As the father of 3, I had my share of those noses and cringed everytime I saw your avatar LOL.

Used to put a small piece of silicon tube in the drive cups to stop the T bar rattling about. That may help.

Sometimes if idler is used and gets put back in traany but in the oppisite direction it was going before it clicks or tries to bind causing the click. If it is take it apart turn it around reinstall and tranny is way smoother again.Ive had three like this i got in recent deals.DON
