Anybody knows the guy that own Time tunnel website?

The japanese site with crazy cool buggies

http://www93.sakura.ne.jp/~time-tunnel/

There is some cool modifications done on a Kyosho Tomahawk and I'd like to ask him a question. Can't find a link to an email... And I don't speak Japanese...

I think the guy that runs Time Tunnel is a friend of Kustomizerz named Tanaka and may have been on this site a time or two. I think he was very uncomfortable with his english and so did not like to post on here. I checked and Kustomizerz has not been on here since May of 2010 so I don't know if there is any connection still available with him on this site. Mrlexan and Mr. Ed I think know Kustomizerz and may be able to contact him.

I've met Tanaka-san and Aku (Kustomizerz)while I lived in Japan.
But I've not spoken them for over a year now.
I can feel you coming: "can you please ask how they mounted modern wheels on the ayk?"
Honestly: I think I've answered that question in the combined threads.

Yes of course Mr Ed you are right BUT BUT BUT... My questions really was... what is the model of those wheels on the Tomahawk? They seems to be Kyosho but I cant find anything that looks like it on the web... I'm afraid they are an old model... The ones on this picture...

The setup he is using would work well on my car and his wheels seems to be a better match than eveything I can find.

Let me know if you know what they are...

Thanks guys...

mmm, I remember seeing pics of how he made those. They're somewhere on the site, but yes there's lots of pics and threads :)
They are plain dish wheels. He made a little jig to drill the holes in a nice pattern. They are most certainly not kyosho though. Maybe Trinity but possibly even RC10's 2.2s

Why don't you come and race in the vintage class at Rosmalen this Sunday: I'll bring parts for your AYK to try.

I'd love that mate but I'm a bit far I'm afraid... Eastern Canada under snow...

Thanks for the info. I tried some B2 wheels yesterday and I may have found a solution... Ran out of time to try it properly though....

Isn't there a Thrunder Tiger buggy that use B2 wheels replicates?

Here is where he shows how he made the jig to drill the holes around the wheel. Hope this helps. http://www93.sakura.ne.jp/~time-tunnel/toma%20custom-10.html

it looks very much like he used a b2 wheel or maybe a losi wheel.

in those pages linked by Al, the wheel appears to be a pin drive 3/16". he made a sleeve to fit to 4mm, and i assume doubled-up on the taper friction washers, and added a small pin on one of them to engage the pin cavity of the wheel. nice and simple.
