Hi Guys, new to the forum, been reading up lots on here on your nice Cats/Cougars etc

I used to race a Cougar Club10 back when they first came out and wanted one of these but couldnt find one so bought a Cougar 1 I think:

Here is a link below:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/170740027170?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649

I'll see what bits it needs but will need a gear cover if any one has one??

Also is there a manual available to download?? I have checked Schumachers website but cant see one for the Cougar.

I looked at that on Ebay :D But i have far too many cars to finish at the moment to go buying more..

Nice buggy for a restoration though. Looks like it has one of the red GPM shock towers on the front. Also looks like you going need a front bulkhead/front suspension plate.

Paul.

You can still get the bulkhead direct from Schumacher, part no : U322. It might not look exactly like the original one but should fit fine. They made running changes to the part so it has extra bracing and i think they come with 3 holes for an external bumper now too.

Hi guys, still waiting for the ebay Cougar in above link to turn up but bought this for spares.

Is it a Cougar 1? Whats with the lowered front end?? was this for use when you ran a touring shell??

I also have 1 x roller drive shaft, are these a good upgrade back in the day?

Here are some pics of what I have so far.........

That looks mostly Cougar 1/Club 10 and it does look like those mounts are for a touring shell.

The spare gearbox you have there is interesting though, looks like you have an alloy gearbox housing on it. It's hard to tell with the pictures what diff is in it too.

cheers for the info Paul, yes its an ally transmission case on that spare gearbox, not sure about the diff?

When I start re-building it i'll get some better pics.

Not sur if they used the laydown shock front end for off road?? I may build up 2 x front ends and try them out!

Hi Guys, Merry Xmas and New Year!

Just started the strip down of the E bay Cougar, looks all there really.

I have bought a new bulkhead and will start cleaning/re-building soon. So far I have stripped it and given it a basic clean: Here are some pics:

Not sure what make the front alloy tower is, any ideas??

Also not sure what finish to go for on the chassis, do I sand and polish it, or powder coat?

One other question, the front wishbones are very worn (T333 part no), are there any more modern Schumacher cars that use these style of wishbone I can buy new??
