My Vintage Team Losi JRX-T

Post by MrBeno »

Hey Losi Fan's I am new here and my 2nd post and glad to be here. I got a few Vintage 80's/early 90's cars and looking forward to disussion of the great RC hobby.

This is my JRX-T that I built back in 1990 or 1991. The only problem about this JrX-T is that I it has a cracked bell crank on the stearing servo (as you can see it is modded) but I plan on replacing it as soon as I find it, I think it is the same for the JR serries. It has Few body issues (mostly the horrible paint job (Which I plan on redoing very soon) The bad paint job happend because I didnt care about the paint back then I just wanted to see it run.) But there is a hole in the bed of the original body which I made for a speed controller (I think or maybe tried to mount it on another car). Anyway here are the photos, I will show a lot more and clean her up and some live videos of him running. I just need to get some new electronics. I also still have the original box which is neat. I have a box full of spares for this and my other ones, but still can't located them in the storage with out crawling through 20 feet of boxes.

Thanks and glad to be here. I think this one was lucky due to the broken belcrank. I never got around to getting it so just played with my other toy which was the RC12L and Maxxum. But this JRX-t never saw a track or anything. Here are some more photos of the bottom. I have been trying to track down that belcrank (I think part 25) left arm for the past few months with no luck. But Once I do and get a new radio (or find my old magnum's) with a new battery and charger purchase then I will run it again.

I may have a few extra's laying around, send me a PM with your shipping address, I can get one over to ya. I dont remember if they are the white ones, they may be black, but I will dig in and get one out.

Gotta help the Losi lovers

Thanks for your repsonses ACo Mike and JK,

I will check that link out Mkea and also the Pm Jk. I am so glad to be here. To excited that I took photos of my jrx-t box just now and found some old number decals and other stuff. But mainly just the decals and a monster mash motor box along with a Novack T1-X user manual. I just can't wait to find my other missing things.

Time for bed but will be back tommorrow.

Here are the new photos. Sorry if I send to many.

I am not sure if one of the buggies I have came from Slapshot!! I have bought so many things off guys on Clodtalk, I have lost track.

Thanks for responses and special thanks to JK for helping this JRXT to get running again soon with the belcranks.) As far as getting rid of old paint on the Lexan what should I use, (that I can get at a hardware or craft store ect...?) And the funniest thing about that paint job I did is that I graduated as a Fine Arts Major in College. I never really cared how the bodies looked when I was younger but I do now.

I also plan on having a video put up on youtube of this running within 10 Days.

I've had pretty good luck with Nitro fuel, but that was on a fresh paint job (less than a month old). I dont know how it will work on older paint/lexan. Dampen a rag and rub away...

I've read, but not tried - Brake fluid.

Very nice Bearrick and thanks for the advice about the cleaning everyone and support. And this post is special thanks to "JK Racing" for his part coming today to finaly fix my JR-XT.

To be honest with you, I really never had to much opertunity to run the truck to much with in first year after I got it, I lent it to my friend because back int eh early 90's and i had others RC cars to run and thought there would be no harm. But he was the one who broke it and tried to rig the old bellcrank. I really never ran it again since then. The chassis just needs cleanup where the old left bellcrank was, but I will clean it after I do a full cleaning of it and try to get the paint off. But I think I will run him before the real cleaning begins.

Here are the photos of the new Bell Crank and thanks again JK Racing :D :D :D and thanks again everyoen for comments and such.
