This is my driver rc10. It is pretty modified and in the process of being transformed into an off-roading machine. I want to replace most of the plastic parts with aluminum. If I ever have some extra cash I plan to put in a brush-less system. The setup I have now is faster than it looks and it has reverse. I know that sounds funny because almost all new cars have reverse now. I purchased an aluminum arm set from atlas but could not get the arm mounts.


I know people are going to criticize me for drilling into the chassis, but I did this to have more space for a better battery. It also turns a hell of a lot better now.

BTW I have one new in box so I am not as worried about modding this one.

I got the arms in from atlas yesterday. Things seem to be going along smoothly.I found out I need a new pin for one of the suspension arms. Some how it got bent. I think I can get those at just any hobby store so it's no big deal. If not I can order a whole set online.

the uni's in that link will be too long. i also don't see the b4 steering bellcranks working out, either.

I always wondered if the RC10GT aluminum stuff would work on the gold tub. Does it fit without modification? Are there any other parts that will fit?

so far the front knuckle hubs fit like a glove(without modification) but the other parts have not arrived quite yet so I cannot say for sure. They seem to cross over pretty well though. I have used the parts from my b3 and t3 on the gold pan and they fit well without modification. It really depends on which part you are talking about. some cross over but others have no chance of fitting.


There are no problems with the steering it works better than the original. It actually has a good turning radius now. I figured the axle wouldn't fit. I have never owned a b4 and it has been a while since I have seen one up close so it was hard to say whether it was the right size. It would be easier if they would just list some dimensions. Thanks for the info.

So in the pics above, those blue aluminum steering bellcranks are from a B4? Because if they are, I'm off to buy a set right now!!

If you are wanting to install it on the gold pan you must drill 4 holes in the chassis 2 for the servo and 2 to mount the steering. It is a little tricky getting it all in the correct position so it functions properly.

Performance is next on the list, for now I am just getting it put together. It drives fine how it is and I can't spend to much more money on it until later. I have many other projects that I am working on like my MGA and Kingdom Key, not to mention school. I might put some money into the diff as well as motor in the future.

Definitely let us know how that steering setup works out for you once its up and running. That looks good and was lookin at them awhile back when I was gonna canibalize a b4 for my 'old is new' build.

I ran the car and the steering is amazing! It is so much better than stock. I think I want some knobby tires for the front and some bigger shocks as well. I bought that truck tower for this reason, but I am still trying to figure out how to mount the body. any suggestions would be appreciated. I will be buying the rear tower to match tomorrow.

btw my engine caught on fire so i think i need a new brushless set up. it was arcing for some reason. I am also having some transmission problems so I am sourcing a bargain stealth.

I think the truck tower idea is out. fitment is just too much work

Dude!! You really need to resize those pics!

When I started on this board I read, read, lurked and read. Then when I had build ideas I searched and read some more. Even after that I bought parts that would not fit my build and I had to backtrack and ask for help.

I would do the same if I were you, although I think it took guts to get that steering in there.
