Wishful thinking I suppose, but maybe my disease is spreading.

I've never been active on that site. Maybe Tamiya is cracking down?

Tamiya contacted several "reproduction specialists" and threatened them with legal action......very specifically targeted TC too - quite a nasty gram!!

Short story is that all repro decals and scans of manuals had to be pulled.....Chris (TC Owner) did not want to run the risk.

There have been "talks" - but nothing concrete yet......Tamiya has lost its soul anyways - just shows it even more with the hard nosed lawyer driven tactics with repro stuff.....I mean seriously - how much money are people taking from them if they aren't even producing it themselves............ahhhhhhhhhh - sorry - rant over.

Cheers

Absolutely - NOT TC's fault though - bloody Tamiya being tight arses............They sent letters/emails to several of the major re-sellers on eBay and other sites as well.............turds...........

Yeah - shame their early stuff was so darned pretty - or I would snub em too!! ;)

LOL

Granted, and I even thoroughly understand his perspective. But what does manuals have to do with anything? Copyrights only?

i can understand them having a problem with the reproduction parts. in the 1:1 world, you have to have licensing through gm/ford/mopar, etc. to make reproductions of their parts. being as though tamiya is still in operation, and with the amount of re-re kits they do, at some point in time, some of the repro parts out there could possibly be re-issued right from tamiya. granted, they're not exaxctly the same as the original, but.....

the manuals, that's just being complete jerk-offs.

Aren't most or all of the kit manuals on tamiyausa.com in pdf form?
