Re: RC10 Graphite Resto-Mod Build
Got Busy tonight, using all recycled parts. Only items i am low on and rod ends which i ordered, some better shocks (i have bags of gold shocks, but want some black ones), and some different shock towers, going with a RC10T rear shock tower and front worlds from fibrelyte.
added a body on there from bluegroove, so a hint as to where this build is going..
ALso custom cut a front alum bumper and made a skid plate. Also found a set of RCPS titanium turnbuckles new that i am using also.
Wanted to keep the build low cost, so far all free parts i had, and a $60 donor car. the body will either be black with real flames in red/yellow/orange/white, or maybe a vintage paint job.

Re: RC10 Graphite Resto-Mod Build
looks great so far. I see the chassis cover you're using for a body, are you going to do a tube add on to that body?

Damn Mike glad to see you behind a wrench again.
Any special plans for that tip of a nose piece? Lots o' possibilities there.

Re: RC10 Graphite Resto-Mod Build
Thanks guys, glad to be working on a car again, been busy.
was going to anodize the nose peice black and keep center logo bare metal, but i may clean it up and run it silver, want to actually run this car, will see what i decide. having my shocks anodized in black though next week, i may throw it in there also not sure yet.

Great reuse of the nose plate. I thought it was a pan for a second.
Re: RC10 Graphite Resto-Mod Build
Looks great! I bought one off eBay a year or two ago for $99 or so and it was 98% rtr except it needed a radio and receiver. What's even weirder though, is that it was fully upgraded. Mine came with Andys arms, an MIP tranny, jammin tires on proline rims, graphite shock mounts, an rpm front bumper, full new ball bearings, an aftermarket chassis, and a Novak speed control. Sweet deal though, good find!

Re: RC10 Graphite Resto-Mod Build
The build looks great so far Mike! This is really going to be a unique looking car, something hard to pull off these days. Keep us up on progress.

Re: RC10 Graphite Resto-Mod Build
Thanks, thats what inspired me to do it... I have a fibre-lyte shock tower set coming, a RC10T rear and a Worlds front, then tranny brace and battery holder, along with shocks being anodized black also.
personally if i spend any more time wrenching on some gold pans with white parts, im going to throw them out the window lol. just sit of getting the clean white parts dirty with my filthy hands lol.
next step is building a cage from aluminum and welding it together... fun fun fun
