Is the XX4 WE really that good?
Is the XX4 WE really that good?
so im trying to get a new stable mate for the b3 team and the same car keeps coming up... wondering if its that much better than the WE because im being offered a standard XX4 for about 80 GBP but decent WE seem to be well over 120 GBP!
they do look hot with all that carbon fibre stuff (or is it graphite) and the low chassis and threaded shocks tho!

Sweetest car ever made (Sorry welshy it ain't the zxr
), and still way competitive now that we aren't mAh-challenged any more, that's why the re-released it again a few years back. I have fond memories of mine from last millenium!!!

Re: Is the XX4 WE really that good?
I recently sold my very nice FULLY factory modded out version with every aftermarket part and tweak available. It went for about $370 USD. Way more that I expected. They are very good cars, but also a little fragile in the front end department. So depending on the types of tracks you will be running, you might want to base your decision on that. -Jeff

Ha - yes, I forgot that... carry spare front arms and (white) bulkheads with you all the time when you race this car
Such a sweet design still! Gil at its finest

Re: Is the XX4 WE really that good?
With some trimming you can run XXX4 front arms, and they seem a little more durable (look to be anyway). I never ran mine that way, but I mocked it up. You'd sacrifice 1/4 or so of wheelbase.
Re: Is the XX4 WE really that good?
it wont be raced but rather lightly bashed.. still trying to find one.. am getting close but not there yet!

Schumacher cat sx front arms are an exact fit with all the same geometry but will require a trim if you use the b3 front steel brace get them in the medium flex and they are much stonger that the xx4 graphite ones.

Re: Is the XX4 WE really that good?
Cool to know about the arms. The XX4 really isn't a "mild basher" by any stretch of the imagination. They have enough trouble staying together on the racetrack, much less in the front yard. Buy a used lazer ZX5 or B44 for that matter. Plentiful on e-bay, cheap, durable, and easy to find parts for. -Jeff
