CON2 MMS Graphite to Graphite RPM build.

Post by CON2 »

Hi all,

You may have seen I came on here a few months ago with my old 2WD, MMS slim car that I raced in the 90's.
Well, after stripping rebuilding, er buy some what far too many job lot os spares, I've now got a roller........

Managed to fit the Lipo in this morning, next wing mount, and bodyshell to paint. Still awaiting the ball raced steering, no names, nudge, nudge, wink, wink.

I thought rather than having bits of threads here and there. Over the months I've had quiet a few questions etc...Newbies for you

Anyway, still working on the "monster", got a few options for mounting the wheels, and finally got another gearbox!!! So may crack on with that next..
We'll see, still got 3 gold pans and the light weight blue pans in bits sat waiting......

Like you all know, you start with one....

O and anyone tell me why this happens, if the rears drop anymore, it'll pop out...

I've got two shims on the inside on the hub, trying to push it back, can't fit any more on, as the pin for the wheel is as close to the bearing as possible....

You need to put spacers in the rear shocks until you get the desired result. You should also try to move the shock position on the rear arms in the most outwards holes. I haven't forgotten about our deal, just be a littel more patient, I should be back at you in the coming days.

Nice progress on your car, but what did you do with the rear bulkhead? It seems all bent?

Bulkheads a test one to get the Lipo to fit, had to make more space it's about 5mm longer, so had to cut it out, the B4 carbon brace pushes the top up...

O and for the weight peeps 1206 grams, with rec and esc!!

No where near the old "slim" version :(

Looks good! That is the second rear motor mount I have seen cut down like that. Steve (on this site) recently posted a pic of a 6 gear with the same modified mount. Too cool!

Pretty cool. I have a mostly black Houge trailing arm project that I am working on now. Kind of gives me an idea what mine might look like some day.

Right well I don't know what's going on, but every time I try to upload a pic, it asks me to log in again, then refreshes, so start to upload, then log in, the refreshes....

Anyway RC10 Graphite build. you'll have to picture this for now.

Titanium turnbuckles fitted.
All the electrics fitted.
Had a test run with the 540 motor and a lipo, dam things fast!!
Never used lipo before!

Hope to join the local club in the new year, fingers crossed for a 540 or Vintage selection, don't think I could race anything faster these days!!

Ruddy pic upload my butt.

Later peeps!!
