Re: 1989 Florida Winter Champs
I was in that 4wd B main they were talking about. My Pro Radiant was on fire that weekend and would have easily been in the A but I could not get the thing to make 4 minutes. I was on the drivers stand next to Ron Rosetti and his awesome signature shorts he would wear. For those who don't remember them, Ron always had very loud clam diggers he would wear. They were appropriate for the time and I even had a couple pair of my own.
On a sad note the local hero mentioned in the article Darrin Stump, a racer from Tampa and good friend during those days, died suddenly last year. He was 37 years old I believe.

Wow! I remember Darrin. If memory serves he was a team member of mine for a while with Schumacher. Good guy. -Jeff

I went to this race! A group of us from Houston went to the race in a RV and camped at the track. My friend. Frosty St. Clair had just picked up am Associated sponsorship, so i was soooooo jealous. he would come back from the AE camp with tons of stuff!

I sold Frosty my spot for the worlds that year. I was paid and ready to go but backed out at the last minute. That's a decision I still regret.
