RC10L2 Part Question...

Post by rooster »

If you guy hadn't noticed yet, my shtick is building associated pan cars from scratch. I know I've probably pay'd 10 times the original price for a kit, but its my therapy.

Anyway, I've just about kited my next build, but I'm lacking just one part. My next project is a RC10L2 and I need everybody's help to find me a "rear chassis brace" P/N ASC8207. if any one knows if there is interchangeability between newer or older kits, please let me know.

Even if anybody has a sketch of this part, I might have to make it...

Yea, I spoke to them today, unfortunately when they check physical stock, they were out.

Thanks for the heads up...

I don't know enough about them so it would probably fall into the 'not quite the right part' category but I have a listing on the bay for a RC10L2O rear chassis brace part #8313.

I'll try it, even if I have to drill to fit...

If you look at pictures from the RC10L2 oval you will see the brace is much shorter than the one from the RC10L2 onroad.
Maybe the holes for the standoffs are the same but the bodyposts are located inwards not outwards away from the standoffs.
Of course you could make some adapterplates using two small carbon pieces.

Regarding cross braces from the older RC10LS this has different spacing between the two standoffs so the holes will be at the wrong position.

Your right, the rear brace is alot shorter, however it did match the stand off pattern and I was able to complete the build this past weekend.

It should work until I the correct part shows up, I had been waiting to build that kit for almost a year. Thanks to "lpddpd" for his part!

I'll post some pic's this week...
