Spring is upon us: What are you doing?

Post by THEYTOOKMYTHUMB »

They say that in the Springtime a young man's fancy turns to r/c...or love if you're single I guess... :P

For me I took my 5 year old fishing in the lake behind our house for the first time. My wife and I had never even acknowledged it to her before for fear that she'd jump in(paranoid I know). We caught exactly one fish, but it was crucial because she's been talking about it all week. It's still a bit chilly here and even the Bluegill(or Sunfish depending on your locale)aren't that active yet. After fighting it to the shore on her Barbie fishing pole I thought she'd be thrilled. Instead it became a horror scene as I tried to take a quick picture of her and her fish while she screamed for me to throw it back in the water because it couldn't breathe.

Anyway, what are your plans?? :D

By the way, the fish is happily back in the lake...hopefully mating!!

Gearing up to mountain bike this morning then heading to parents house to pick up my boat. Will be fishing with my dad all week and then my kids and wife all summer long :D . Waiting on my brushless motor system to arrive for my CE and slowly building a Frankenstein/old is new graphite.

Its still in the 40's here so it'll be a month or so before the spring/summer actually starts. The warm time of year is actually when I'm the least active with R/C. I spend all my time and money on my 68 Camaro during that period.

My brother and I started building a 1990 AWD Eagle Talon mud drag car last week for the upcoming season...should be fun.

I'm starting to build an off-road R/C track that I started late last season but never finished.

I changed the oil in my car today outside and not in the garage...it must be spring.

Going to a friend of my wife's wedding

'cause that's what we do here in suburban NY - weddings, funerals, christenings, communions, birthdays, retirements - basically anything for an excuse to sit around, talk about nothing and eat...

Now don't get me wrong, I love sitting around with friends talking and eating (and drinking :D ), but it's a beautiful Saturday afternoon!!!! Can't we get all of that out of our systems during the winter?

Sigh.... hope they at least have a good beer selection...

Working- and then working again. Might get a chance to expand our backyard track since I am pretty sure the local indoor track is in it's death throes- :?

x2 on the tracks. I started 2 tracks last year and need to fine tune them. One is a short twisty track with jumps. The other I call the Daytona. Just a big no jump track that we can hold brushless pretty much wide open. Along with work, kids (football, baseball, cub scouts, swimming lessons, golf). No wonder I never got the tracks all the way done. I also would like to fish sometime as my boat has not seen water in 2 years. Other than that, not much.

Yup, that's what happens when you have 2800 in leases and no hobby shop-

Sundays - Taking the dogs to the lake until the oldest can't do it anymore, as the dogs last wish (he's sick)
I am not here cause I am playing photographer and on my mountain bike.

i'm on day 7 of a 10 day fast. aka no food for 10 days.

that combined with spring fever = one happy kaiser. i feel freaking awesome.

i've been getting my garage ready to pick up where i left off on my 74 beetle rebuild.

we've also been doing alot of work around the house.

i've also been gathering new camping gear, now that my son is almost 2 we can start camping again.
i got a coleman sundome 5 tent, a couple of new sleeping bags and a cool brunton mini lantern all free through a program at work.

this sping is off to a fabulous start!

Still waiting for all the snow to melt, temperatures to reach warmer than 10 degrees Celsius, and then do some more work on my '70 Charger's interior. Gotta weld in 2 front floor pans, then prep everything for sound deadener & a new carpet.
