'da blue guy

Post by scr8p »

i started messing around with another build. mainly just mocking some things up. when it's all said and done, it'll be as blue as i can make it. i wanted a blue annodized motor plate, but i wanted to retain the 2.25 stealth. so, a little bit of modifying, and now i got one. :D

i took a b3/t3 motor plate, and drilled and tapped a couple new holes so it would mount to the 2.25 stealth. then, i cut down the rear of the tub about a 1/4" or so. it need a little bit of a bend in the back, since the motor plate is a bit shorter. so it was off to the sheetmetal break for some tweaking. a couple more holes drilled and tapped, and some dremeling, and this is what i ended up with. i still have to clearance the right outdrive and the opening for the topshaft, but so far i think it looks pretty good.

Nice work, scr8p. I wonder if I could do the same thing with a B4 motor plate and 2.25 stealth for my A&L conversion. I'd hate to chop up a perfectly good motor plate and since the B4 plate doesn't have the integrated rear bumper, it might work. I love this place...so many ideas!

i've never really looked at a b4 motor plate. but, i don't see why it couldn't be made to work.

i've had this idea in my head for quite some time now. i just didn't have the platform to try it on. the only thing i'm worried about would be the range of gearing that would mesh up. but, i'll find out soon enough. not that it matters. i probably won't use the car anyway.

if someone has a set of 2.2 blue losi dirt spec tires, or knows where to get them, i'd be interested. :)

well, it's almost done. i gotta make a parts run this weekend for some bits and pieces. hopefully they have the stuff in stock. i changed my mind about dying everything blue. i like the way the white parts look with the blue chassis.
