for the record, this is NOT how the car looked after the race, which is how my car will be.
well, i figured if someone wants to steal my thunder and replicate the car before mine is done, they can. i'm still at the point where i can easily make this a replica from another race around the same time frame. i have beautiful pics of that car, too. actually, even better than what i have for this car.
so, i grabbed this 7 cell pack off ebay a few weeks back to use for this build. i know, they're 1500's. but they're new, yellow, and would've been close enough for me.
but thanks to an ebay link from aaron the other day, these little beauties will be going in it now.
i was actually kinda bummed when i opened the package and found out that those 7 new red cells were 1200's. i really hoped they were 1400's. but, i wasn't gonna send the guy a question and wait for an answer.
Picked this up ftom fletch the other day. Not exactly sure if it will become anything more than a tear down, clean up and put back together. But we'll see. I like starting out with cars like this to see how nice they are under the dirt. :)...

I realized tonight that I did actually move this build along since the last chassis pics. Turnbuckles and ball cups are on. I also had a pair of AE universals chrome plated and installed. Oh, and the nose tubes.
Guys, Here's my attempt at building a replica. It seems a lot harder to do then building a custom car because there is no creative freedom, you've got to adhere as closely to the original as possible and the finding of very specific parts.

This Cliff Lett replica is an amazing build and one of my favorites. I can remember starring at the picture of Cliff’s car in RCCA for hours looking for build tips.
I figured I better start a proper thread for this one so it gives me a place to post pictures on the progress as I create a Buggy Master replica from his 1990 Radio Operated Automobile Racing Organization, Nationals winning car.
Here are the...

They're in the RCCA archives. I believe that Flip still has them on his site-
Well, I always loved the Cliff Lett ROAR 90's winner, with the red white and blue body with sharpie rivets around the window. When I saw that front nose plate with the big swoop of a notch cut in, I did the same thing to a nose plate, which I think...

Fantastic build. I really enjoy seeing these replica builds come to life.
I now have all the parts need to complete a really good replica of this car, but for the body, I need more different view of it to identify all the stickers...
So, if you could help me, you're welcome !

I am exited to see the project. This car was my favorite of this era. I set my car up as close as possible to this car and it handled great. Make sure you take some good pics and post them up. Good luck, I will look around to see what I can find. :)
Starting a new project with a big thanks to Gary aka (Redscampi) This will be an ongoing project and it wont be an exact replica but i will do the best i can. I will throw up some pics shortly of what i have done so far.
Here are a few shots of my me too Cliff Lett replica.
I have all the electronics to replicate what he had published in RCCA, just need some time to install. Moo cow paint job will be sprayed on the original RC10T body (not a repop).
I haven't seen this one attempted yet, and I have a spare Pro SE gathering dust, so what the heck. I will probably be pulling from a lot of you guys here for help on finishing up the details.
I am trying to keep close to the car that Kyle drove,...

The rear I believe is a composite craft.
Can someone confirm if this is indeed a Composite craft SE tower?
Oh and hows this going Brandon? Been a couple of years.
