Re: hpi sprint 2 sport
i think the sprint 2 is a low cost entry level touring car, which is not a problem....it has enough tunability, and has ball bearings, and gear diffs.....and can be upgraded as necessary.....
I don't think you would be totally outclassed running against a tc3 or tc4, provided you are a good driver, or of the same caliber of driver as everyone else running with you.....
if you are interested in running against a tc3 or tc4, you can pick them up quite easily used on ebay and usually with a lot of hop-ups already installed....

Re: hpi sprint 2 sport
I had a great summer of racing with my Sprint 2. I bought it off a racing buddy halfway through the summer, and have loved it ever since! I ran it in our GT2 class, which is brushless 21.5 TC class.
I found the car to be very low maintenance ...no broken parts or any problems with it for the months I ran it this summer. (and I found it handled better than both the Xray 007 and Tamiya TA05 I ran the with the same motor/battery setup)
It would make a dynamite VTA car. I'm pretty sure parts are still easily bought for the Sprint. (like I said, I never broke any parts
)
You can see some body-off shots on this page of my blog:

Here's a video of me running it at the 'FastCats Depot' parking lot series in Toronto. It's the blue and white w/black stripes that starts in position 2:

Oh, and FYI, the spool came out after one day's racing. I hated it.

I can't take credit for that... it was painted by the guy I bought the car from. (all I did was add the black stripes)Coelacanth wrote:Yours was the sharpest-looking car.

If you want. I have a 68 camaro body, NIP with all decals, everything. I wish I saw this a few days ago. I just sold my HPI RS4 Pro3 VTA racer on ebay. P2K2 motor, Losi lipo esc. I would've offered it to you.
Here's the body

This was my VTA (3 kids make racing very hard to do LOL)
