is there any good way to strip paint from inside lexan

You can use fuel for RC-nitro engines’; it takes a wild, so you have to be patience!

Nitro fuel works very good on most paints. My method is to use a paintbrush dipped in fuel to gently scrub off the paint

I only use nitro fuel. Oven cleaner and brake fluid ( which btw work great for hard plastic bodies) will damage lexan.

what about percents and car vs. heli/plane? i'll ask my friend he did nitro helis but i think he went all lipo

dot 4 brake fluid works well, try to stick to rubbing with paper towels, i stripped an f1 body down to bare lexan and the toothbrush i used left some scratches in the lexan, covered up with white paint though.

I haven't found anything that will touch silver paint in terms of gasoline and/or brake fluid. I've tried gasoline and brake fluid on factory silver paint on a Duratrax RTR and an older Dahm's Buggsy body that I would love to rehab, but the paint won't budge.

I think in future I'll back my paintwork with white instead, because you never know when or what you'll want to repaint.

ya watched a vid on utube dot 4 worked well. who ever invents stripper for clear bodies is going to be a rich rich boy lol!

Testers makes a paint removal now for lexan, called Easy Lift Off. I have not tried it yet but RC Car Action Magazines had mentioned this in there "How to Bomb Proof Your Body" FEB 2011 issue. Apparently it will remove lacquer paint from lexan bodies without so much as fogging it up. It's 100% safe on polycarbonite bodies.

That stuff isn't really new and has been mentioned on here a number of times in the past but I'm really curious to see how it works.

1st time I had heard of it when i read the article. I plan on trying it out on an a 57' chevy body that I want to repaint.

I need to know if this stuff works ... I will suddenly have a bunch of painting projects to do if I can save some of these bodies.

I have at least 2 Dahm's bodies to rescue, and an original TRX-1 body, too.

I'm really regretting backing just about every painting project ever with some kind of silver lacquer ...
