Here is a restoration of a car I picked up last weekend. I call this one "The basket case" Not a single part on this car didn't have paint on it. Even the e-clips were painted. Here are my results after almost a week of cleaning. We need to have a contest showing the worst piles of junk being transformed.

Dis-assembly: Notice the paint on the buklhead, trans case, shock towers, ect

Peroxide bath for 2 days

going back together

my buddy grumbles just got a rc10t4.1... first thing, he opens the box and saw the body was a little bit smashed up in the front.. not that big of a deal but it is a new truck so it kinda stinks but hes a good sport...today he takes it out for his...

Thanks guys. Interesting information on the B2. I knew it shared many of the same parts with the B3. Like someone else pointed out, I always assumed the B3 came out so quickly after the B2 because of performance, but I guess my assumption was wrong...

I kind of posted a little bit about this in another thread.

Although I do love opening a brand new rc and seeing it in all its shiney glory then taking it ,out running it, breaking it in, and pretty much beating it up. Or back when most of them...

I might have a problem. I seen this scrap pile on the bay for $100 or best offer. I made an offer and they took it. The transmission and shocks are probably worth more than I paid for all of it.

So I have been buying off ebay for almost 20 years now and recently have noticed people listing rc parts intentionally leaving damage out of the ad and when you question it the blame is always placed on the buyer. Just not cool all together

If its mentioned in the ad than fine. But 99 out of 100 times this is not the case. You have a good point if you just want a part to use for 3d printing or reproduction. As for the prior comment of a shelf queen being a rc that glued together parts...

Instead of throwing away these wheels I took off one of my runners that was beat up pretty badly I decided to give them a second chance. I started by stripping the chrome, fixing the cracks with bond, sanded everything down smooth, then hit them...

Nice job on that looks nearly new.
I have much more enjoyment getting a terrible looking piece to look nice than opening a new in package part.
