Very cool trucks you've got there. I always dug the look of the Kyosho trucks, the Big Brute, Double Dare, High Rider Vette, etc. I owned a USA-1 though and it was a lemon. I assume the smaller trucks probably performed better. I love seeing the vintage Kyosho monsters now days, they seem far less common than the Tamiyas.

Kyosho definatly did have the underdog in this case. At the same time though, it was cool with indi suspension and all. But the real monsters have live axles so clod wins for scale there.

I had a USA-1 and it was a lemon too. No comparison to the ClodBuster. Kyosho has always had some cool vehicles but they usually end up playing second fiddle to Tamiya.

My uncle had a Double Dare BITD, which I built for him. It ran well, but it was no Clodbuster. Tamiya did just about everything right with the Clod. On the flipside, it seems like Kyosho couldn't build a monster truck to save it's life. It's surprising, considering how great their cars were.

I had a Twin Force, the electric version of the Mad Force. I upgraded the diffs (I think to Inferno or whatever the current gas buggy was) and drive shafts, put the Novak HV brushless in it and it was friggen AWESOME! Maybe the baddest monster truck I've ever owned. Ran like a champ and had soooo much power. I don't think I ever broke any parts either. I ended up selling it because I live in the city and I really didn't have anywhere to drive it, it was just too fast and powerful. If I had a place to run it, I'd definitely get another.

As much as you can't compare the Double Dare to the Clod, they really are 2 different animals (and one that Kyosho failed with, even though I LOVE the looks of their trucks). The Twin Force is that much better than the Clod. But again, different animals (especially considering age).
