Hi all,

Just moved house and during the packing/unpacking uncovered my old RC10 Team Car. Still all original with the box...
I'm following the various tyres threads and have a few leads on getting new wheels/tyres (I want to keep the original ones original :) ) but I've got a few questions about motors...

The kit I got (#6035) had no motor, radio or speed controller so I just used those parts from my old Tamiya Sonic Fighter, so I've got the Tamiya Sport Tuned RS540 and a 23T pinion gear which until a few years ago was coupled with a 3 speed + reverse speed controller.
A few years ago I bought an LRP F1 Super Reverse ESC plus some 3Ah NiMh batteries to bring it back to life but never gave it much run time and its basically been packed up in a box since then.

Now that I'm inspired to get it running again, I'm looking at better motors... I'd prefer to stick with brushed so I don't have to invest in a new ESC, so I want to know what experience people have had here. The ESC is good down to 13T motors, so I'm most interested in how low I can go without trashing the stealth tranny.

I'm also interested in what gears I should get. The Spur is the original 81T and as I've said, the pinion I have is a 23T. I've been looking at buying a few different 19T motors and some smaller pinions (probably a 17, 19 and 21)

I doubt it'll ever be on a racetrack but I'd like to be able to play around with different speed/torque setups without changing anything except motor/spur/pinion

Any and all feedback appreciated!

Oh yeah... GREAT forum too :)

Anywhere from stock to 19T should give good results. The new 19T are much better than when you drove it in the past.
