Old Wheels, New Rubber

Does anyone have a definitive answer for this? After searching a good bit on this site and others, I will ask the question:
Will new size rubber (2.2) fit on the YZ10 ROAR sized wheels (5.5cm or 2.17in). I have a great set of the orange wheels and need new rubber for them. Can I put new rubber on there? If so, what is a good set of tires for the YZ10?
thanks all, and I am still learning a lot....

we got thick rubber bands, and glued them to the rims, in the trench where the tire sidewall grooves into.
the rubber band thickened up the rim just enough to glue the newer 2.1 tires onto the rims.
you had to go back from time to time and touch up the sidewalls with glue, but back then these parts were a dime a dozen and tires would last like 2 weeks before you tried out a different tire combination.
we did the same trick to 2.1 to 2.2 rims and tires. the rubber band takes up the slight difference so you could glue the tire square to the rim, if you tried to glue things freehand without the rubber band, you would either pinch the sidewalls or glue the tire out of round.
Interesting solution. Does .03in make that much of a difference?
