**TOTAL RECALL**
This has to be one in a million.
This was found in the middle of a (very) busy boulevard!
I was driving through town on business and spotted what appeared to be road kill or debris up ahead in the middle of about 4 lanes of traffic. To my suprise it looked somewhat familiar...a Tamiya Blackfoot that had obviously been run over a least once. I was somewhat bummed as I went by, as the traffic was too busy to stop & check out what was left of it. Besides, I had business to do. About an hour or so later I had to travel back in the direction where I had originally seen it. To my suprise it was still there! The shattered body must have been hit again and had disappeared, or had been picked up. To compound an unusual stroke of luck, the light behind me had changed to red which allowed me to make a quick stop and hit the emergency flashers. I had just enough time to swing the door open & pick it up. What was left was a completely original (plastic bushings!) Blackfoot that appeared to have very little wear. It was filthy like it had been stored for years. After close inspection, I noted the chassis didn't even have a scratch! The tires were dry rotted & completely shot, the wheels and body mounts appeared to have taken all the damage. What was left was a great base for a new project.
I've never been much of a believer of giving a corny name to a project, but I couldn't resist calling this one TOTAL RECALL...since ROAD KILL just didn't sound right.

Re: **TOTAL RECALL**
Stripping it down ready for a fresh start...
Looks like the rear axles aren't gonna make it.
Based on most of my other projects on here, I don't think it will be too hard to guess what this will wind up being.
I think this will be the 2.0 version of my Frog I had years ago.
Hence the idea for the project name: TOTAL(as in total loss) RECALL

Re: **TOTAL RECALL**
That's a great story.
I imagine a flea market/yard sale nut finding someone's dusty old shelfer and buying it for next to nothing with plans to turn it for a quick buck. And then karma bites him in the butt when the Blackfoot pops out of the bungeed trunk of his Plymouth Reliant.
Let us know how it turns out.

The preceding contained opinions, beliefs and thoughts that all may not agree with. No offense was intended at any point. Carry on.

Re: **TOTAL RECALL**
I have the opposite luck. I would be the one to buy it at a Flea Market and have it fall out of my Plymouth Reliant bungeed trunk. Nice find, literally...

Wow,
This thing is cleaning up nice.
Only a few parts to replace at this point. Most, I probably won't need anyway!

It sounds like we have the same kind of luck!
Like I said, this is one in a million.

I found that the axles are bent. I can assume it was from getting ran over several times before I rescued it. I'm not sure what I'll be replacing them with yet.

This thing is so clean, that I'm almost considering a Monster Beetle conversion...it's still to early in the build yet to make a decision. I may go the cheap route and do a Frog/Baja build..but that's been done before. I did one on my first Frog back in '87, so this may be something similar.
