Scorcher '10

Post by Brandon G »

Here's an ongoing project I am working on. Seen it done many times on this forum and always liked the results...

I can't take credit for shortening the chassis on this one, it came to me from Scott already done. Body was done as well. I still lack fabbing a front body mount. I have a cut down CRP mount on it that I need to finish. I have to swap out the front shock tower with a shorter older version to accomodate the .56" shocks I have. Rear body mounts need to be moved aft about 1/4" for proper fit.

More pics to follow....

Hey Brandon,

Nice car! Just wondering where you purchased those side body mounts from? I'm working on a gold pan project but plan on cutting the sides of the gold pan down so I can't use velcro to secure the body. These side mounts might work for mine.

In case you were wondering, I'm cutting down the sides because I got the gold pan off ebay and the person who sold it to me destroyed the sides with big, ugly uneven holes. Looks bad. I wanna clean it up. Thanks!

They were custom made out of a piece of flat kydex.

I like it but I'm not sold on the narrowed rear fenders.

Sweet.

It's always good to see another Baja project.

It relieves the boredom of looking at just another cleaned up buggy.

Customs are cool when a bunch of spare parts are put together to make something unique.
Projects and shelfers:
Late Edinger, RC10B2, Dual Sport, GT, Kyosho Turbo Ultima, Triumph, Tamiya Sand Scorcher, Blackfoot/Monster Beetle, '67 Beetle, Nikko Rhino, Traxxas Fiero, Slash, Hand-built Dune Buggy..all on here somewhere...

That looks awesome Brandon! I can't wait to see it with the body mounted up correctly.

Love this! Definitely a soft spot in my heart for the original sand scorcher and this is just too cool!

Two thumbs up!
