Re: Bearrickster's Autobody
I already commented on that orange and blue paint scheme but i will say again it's cool! Very effective. Seeing that JRX-T makes me itchy to get mine painted. I suppose that's what this section is all bout, huh?

Re: Bearrickster's Autobody
They look good to me, I like the "team" look of the 1st 2.
Very cool!
That JRXT looks sweet. It's rare to see many "box art" paint jobs, most folks do their own thing.
I'd like to try a full on restoration one of these days..

Re: Bearrickster's Autobody
I used 3M blue fine line tape and still got some bleeding. I don't know what I am doing wrong. any suggestion would be appreciated. 7 dollars a roll and you would think it would stick? it bled on the flats. but over all it looks ok, for a 5 footer.
Re: Bearrickster's Autobody
As I said Rick, i think it looks great! Maybe you're putting the paint down too heavy? Did you burnish the edges just before spraying? I'm no expert, it's just something I need to work on too. Can you put a pinstripe on that to cover the bleeding?

Re: Bearrickster's Autobody
I use 3m pinstriping tape for the edges. It is made out of a vinyl instead of masking material. You still have to burnish the edges and be careful in tight corners, but it leaves a crisp line. $13 a roll, but lasts a long time.
The blunt end of a toothbrush works well for burnishing masking tape BTW.

Re: Bearrickster's Autobody

Re: Bearrickster's Autobody
It comes off just fine. The best I've used, definetely worth the money.
I used some red pinstripe tape from Duratrax I think. Not worth a crap. It streches just peeling it off the roll. Leaves stick on the lexan after you peel it off too. Straight into the trash can it went.

Re: Bearrickster's Autobody
They all look great, I see nothing to laugh about. I remember when you sold the JRXT. I sure wish I bought it! I don't like Losi, but that truck would be one Losi I should get one day in box art colours!
Nice BRE btw!
