Can someone confirm if Delta P/N 17017 is a fiberglass or a graphite chassis...

Purely based on the look of the countersunk holes I'd say glassfiber. The cut edges and countersunks on a graphite chassis are darker than the ones on black coloured GRP.

Get a second opinion though

for the $25.00 price tag even at the time, im going to say its fiberglass, based on the look of the holes also.

The first one is black fiberglass (based on the same observations as mr lexan), and the second one is a combination of carbon outer layers with a fiberglass core. This is very popular from that era. The center layers of a composite offer little strength, so by using a less expensive alternative at the core, (eg. fiberglass) one was able to keep down costs when compared to a solid carbon or graphite piece. While at the same time offering similar physical characteristics (although slightly heavier). -Jeff

JD is fully right, and while being heavier it is in a way helping to keep your CG lower
